Sony

The Last Guardian takes up the first position in the Sony briefing. This is a hugely anticipated title, but I just couldn’t do it. I could barely tolerate the kid’s voice for the demo. Yikes!

THE LAST GUARDIAN

Here is a new game from Guerilla Games that just looks great. Horizon: Zero Dawn manages to both feel familiar and fresh. I’m glad to see actually gameplay for this one.

HORIZON: ZERO DAWN

While this was only a cinematic trailer, they did a good job with it. It actually got me a little excited for a series that I haven’t enjoyed in the past. PS4 will have a console exclusive beta.

HITMAN

This is my first time seeing anything for No Man Sky. It kind of reminds me of the space travel portion of the Mass Effect series. There doesn’t seem to be much action, but the sheer scale of the universe that they have created is awesome. Tens of thousands of suns, each with their own planetary systems for players to explore.

Media Molecule has brought something new to the table with Dreams, an incredibly deep creation engine on which players can create pretty much anything that they can imagine. Here are both the trailer and the gameplay demo.

DREAMS

DREAMS GAMEPLAY

Firewatch is a mystery game, where you play as a fire lookout, who is cut off from the outside world, other than the voice of his supervisor over his walkie talkie. I had to look that description up, because I had no idea from the trailer. Despite that, I thought the game was compelling and i’d like to check it out at some point.

FIREWATCH

There is new content coming for Destiny. The Taken King has players being hunted down by Oryx, who is seeking sweet, sweet revenge. Fans of the game will be all over this.

DESTINY: THE TAKEN KING

Next, there is another trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. This one highlights Evie, the female lead, and it’s brutal and awesome. PS4 owners will have exclusive access to DLC The Dreadful Crimes.

ASSASSIN’S CREED: SYNDICATE

Coming exclusively to PS Vita and PS4, is World of Final Fantasy. It’s cute. Sickenly cute.

WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY

In other Final Fantasy news, there is a remake of 7 heading your way. It’s shiny and new.

FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE

Four new indie titles were revealed. The trailer, by developer Devolver Games, for Ronin, Eitr, Mother Russia Bleeds and Crossing Souls follow.

DEVOLVER GAMES’S INDIE TRAILER

Do you have some extra cash and love Shenmue? Then get on over to Kickstarter and pledge your dollars! It won’t take much. It was announced just over an hour ago and is at $950k, as of this posting, which is nearly half of it’s goal.

SHENMUE 3

The Arkham Knight trailer is pretty amazing. Brick is going to love this game! The Scarecrow Nightmare Missions are exclusive to PS4.

BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT DLC TRAILER

Project Morpheus is the VR platform designed by Sony for the PS4. RIGS was developed especially for Project Morpheus. This video also covers some info on Playstation Music and Playstation Vue, Sony’s ala carte streaming television solution.

The PS4 is now the home for the Call of Duty games. Black Ops 3 players will get first access to the beta and DLC on the PS4.

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 3

Disney Infinity 3.0 will have an exclusive Star Wars booster pack on PS4, as well as timed exclusivity to Twilight of the Republic and Rise Against the Empire, two Star Wars DLC packs.

DISNEY INFINITY 3.0

Sony is showing another Star Wars: Battlefield gameplay footage. It just looks so good! This game does an excellent job of immersing you in the Star Wars universe.

STAR WARS: BATTLEFIELD

Sony’s last title of the day is Uncharted 4. This is definitely one of those exclusive titles that I missed out on, due to my choice in consoles. As if I had time anyway!

UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF’S END

Microsoft had a great show, but I think I’m going to have to give this one to Sony. They have done an outstanding job at securing exclusive games and content! Leave us a voicemail at 512-522-9278 and we’ll do our best to address your comments on the show.
