As far as I am concerned this game is a must buy for all of us. You would be fools to not at least try this game out. Ill be playing this one for a while I can tell.
I'll be down for co-op.
Here's some more boner-stoking from Game Informer.
In Borderlands, The Struggle To Survive Is Easier With A Friend - Borderlands - Xbox 360 - GameInformer
Well looks like the first reviews for the game are starting to come out the first one I saw was from OXM they gave it an 8.5 which I think is rather solid because they tend to be very strict on some games.
Here is the article from Borderlandsguide.com
I really think based on what I have seen so far that its definitely going to scratch some Action RPG itches I have been having lately. There was also a link I followed that said that the article made is sound like the reviewer built a weak mordecai and that is why he knocked it for being unbalanced, Though Randy Pitchford has stated that there are some areas that if you go into them at a low level expect to get your ass kicked.
OXM is fail imo but 8.5 is pretty good for them so take it as you will.
UPDATE
On the topic of saving games, one of the Gearbox devs posted this response on the official Gearbox forums (thanks Mr. Nitro PB):Originally Posted by HellFace The game saves automatically when you quit, and you lose nothing.
It saves anywhere, and it auto saves your character state at every checkpoint and when you quit. What it doesn't do is save every enemy/item in the world. It works just like Diablo, except we have more frequent waypoints. Quit, when you join again, you'll be at the nearest checkpoint and the enemies will be around, which is good because they are all worth XP and have cash and gear. And if you are second guessing a decision about skill points, you can fully respec your character at any save station in the world at any time.
Some people don't the action RPG style save system, and I guess this reviewer is one of those people. I believe it's the best possible way to handle this kind of game, and any other solution would have failed the promise of the game.
As for "not for everyone"?
Damn right, and proud of it.
That's really the thing with RPGs that can go wrong with reviews. If the reviewers doesn't really know what their doing, they have a bad experience, so the game recieves a lower score.
And I also love that there are areas that are outside of your level range. That's one of the things that I didn't like about Oblivion and it's level scaling. Exploring isn't fun if you know you can walk into any dungeon and kill whatever lies within. It's the OH SH!T! moments of running into a creature you can't contend with that make RPGs fun for me.
Agreed. Scaling definitely hurt Oblivion for me, and caused me to play it in a manner I would not have otherwise.
This review is certainly encouraging, and I look forward to hearing how Gearbox plans to support the game with dlc and patches. I still think a trade mechanic in multiplayer and some way to area-collect in singleplayer could be handy.
They've confirmed that there's no trade sytem in place yet, but that they might patch one in if they get enough requests after launch.
Whether or not I trust someone is irrelevant. Do we really want to go back to the arcane PSO way of dealing with this issue?
An area-collect for single player would be nice provided that there is a quick and easy way to sell/scrap unwanted weapons.
I look forward to the success of Borderlands and L4D2, and hope it leads to further development of the co-op experience on consoles. Who knows, someone other than Square might dare to make a console mmo.

So here are a few more reviews from IGN and Giantbomb. From the looks of it we have a pretty solid game coming our way tomorrow.
I am really wishing right now that there was a midnight release since my class tonight and tomorrow morning both just got canceled today and I have nothing to do but dream about borderlands goodness tomorrow, maybe I will take this time to actually do homework before borderlands comes out. Anyone else picking this one up tonight or tomorrow? I will be on between whenever I get it and 5pm then 10pm-1am est if anyone wants to get some loot whoring goodness in.
I'm picking this up tomorrow for sure. I wont be playing any MP for a bit though until I'm more familiar with the game. This is gonna' be a loooong day.
A face can say a lot about a person, especially the mouth part.
I copped this from Amazon, should have it via Prime in a few days. Really looking forward to the co op experience.
Lol that video is great.
Ill be picking this up, and im down to play Co-op first singleplayer never if anyone is interested.
I'm expecting to probably ask for this for Christmas, but from what I've seen, it's definitely high on my wish list.
For those on the fence, this will give you the feel of the game I think. The opening cinematic...
