The Mirror's Edge by EA is looking amazing!
First person perspective + non-shooting focus + parkour = EPYON WANT!

I'm going to pre-order its brains out.

Wow, that could almost have the "feel" of Crackdown, with the way it looks when jumping from high to low. does that make sense?
Thanks,
Eric

An answer, before the question
Wow. I love the music man, this games looks like it going to be sweet. Jumping on rooftops never gets old.
I think it was best described here:Here is the first trailer video from May.Gametrailers.com - Mirror's Edge - SCEE PlayStation Day TrailerOriginally Posted by Gameinformer.com
I've been following this game for a while.(Notice my avatar and the tat Faith is sporting on her eye.) Gametrailers.com has a few videos up that give a great example of the gameplay. They also have a producer video that explains what they are trying to do with the game. First person gameplay, but not concentrating on shooting. This game looks great and I hope EA doesn't F it up.
I've always wanted to do that in real life, I'm a big fan of Parkour. I've got a long video of a guy doing it on my myspace, I think (I never use it anymore). I almost couldn't bare doing that in a video game.
It's almost like the idea of rock climbing in a video game. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It still looks kinda fun though (although not so impressive graphics on that video).
Yeah, Parkour is sweet, mix Assassins Creed with some Crackdown fun.
Also the game Prototype should have a good amount of parkour in it from what i read.
If you want to see a foreign action Movie with Parkour up the Wazoo in it then check out District Barrio 13 aka B-13.
This is the Famous Parkour guy...David Balle (i think thats his name)
I watched a video of this earlier this morning (for the first time) while waiting for my car's oil to be changed, and must say it looks pretty impressive. Because it's an EA property, I'm leary of the final product, but definitely think the concept is very cool.
This game looks alright, but I think it'll be one of those that may get old... fast. Especially if all you do is run from rooftop to rooftop. There has to be something else there for people to bite down on.
I'll give the game a rent when it comes out.

I bought the game yesterday and I am very impressed. The cops will pwn you if you try to rush them and will frequently gun you down if you aren't moving at mach speed. This is not a game that fraks around. It has an old school feel about it where it expects you to get it right and doesn't hold your hand or tell you that "you're special" when you're not. You screw up, you do it again. But what's cool is that this isn't frustration-inducing. It's "I know I can do it better next time" and wanting to do it again.
More detailed thoughts later. Just wanted to remind people that this game came out and that it appears very promising so far.
I was just at Best Buy and saw it sitting there as well as Call of Duty... I skipped for now on both and got the new trivia one instead... Box Office Smash.
When I watched the demo at PAX it made me dizzy. I haven't tried the demo yet though.
Did you buy the game yet Ep? Do you love it? I once walked in on a guy doing parkour. I don't think he even noticed.
A face can say a lot about a person, especially the mouth part.
