After all the delays and drama from SK, I hope this one is a keeper. I'm just nervous so I'm gonna rent it first.

It's been given some pretty so-so reviews. I'm glad the demo will be out before the product since it'll give me a chance to try out the game play before buying.

Maybe the demo would give me a reason to preorder it, I really hope that it turns out well but I am still skeptical.

The concept of the game is awesome and the RPG elements added to the action could make it great. The screenshots have looked really good also, but the reports of technical problems make me very wary.

the game hasn't capture me from what I've heard of it. Unfortunately, I think this game is going to be a classic, more hype and substance.

I'll check it out the demo though. Unfortunately, most demos I play anymore rarely make me have that must have feeling. They're usually reasons to make me want to wait.

I just played an hour of it and I kinda liked it. The demo has alot of issue's that the internets will flame but I think the story and rpg elements were interesting.

I thought it was pretty meh. I don't like swinging my sword with the right stick, the dialogue is a bit cheesy, combat isn't very interesting, and it reminds too much of Gauntlet: Dark Legacy for the PS2, which I despised. What I did like was how you don't know the full reason as to why you're doing the current mission. Throughout the mission there are little cut scenes explaining what you're doing.

The controls seemed a little off the first time I played the demo. After playing it a second time they grow on you quickly. I made sure to swap out some weapons on the 2nd play through and enjoyed it. The demo may be a little too short though.

For those unsure of the controls, Prima put out some tips for the demo that might be a little help.

I would give this game a few play throughs to get used to the controls before you make a decision on it.

    Link

The Too Human demo is coming to Xbox Live Marketplace this week as part of Microsoft’s Bringing it Home roll-out of E3 content. According to IGN, the demo is set to release on Monday at 2 AM PDT (that’s tonight!) and will include part of the first level. So I figured this would be a good time to provide some general combat tips before you’re overrun by goblins or stomped by trolls.
Slide Attack: This is a core maneuver during melee combat allowing Baldur to slide from one enemy to the next. Simply push the right control stick in the direction of your intended target to initiate a slide. You can also perform air slide attacks to engage enemies in the air. Simply jump (A button) and push the right control stick in the direction of your airborne enemy.
Juggle Attack: During melee, double tap the right controller in the direction of your enemy to send them flying into the air. While your target is airborne, either jump and perform an air slide attack, or remain on the ground and shoot them with your ballistic weapon by holding down the right trigger. Killing enemies in the air is a great way to boost your combo meter.
Fierce Attack: At long range, simultaneously push the right and left control sticks in the direction of your enemy to perform a fierce attack. This fires a blast of energy from your melee weapon, damaging and knocking down any hostile units in its path; a great crowd control method. Swords, staves, and hammers produce different fierce attacks, but they all function similarly.
Finisher: Like the fierce attack, finishers are performed by pushing the right and left control sticks in the direction of your enemy. However, finishers must be performed at close range, causing Baldur to strike his nearby enemy multiple times for bonus damage. Use it on tough enemies like assault goblins and goblin leaders.
Ruiner: The ruiner is a massive radius attack, damaging (and sometimes killing) all enemies around your character; press the right shoulder button to deploy. Each ruiner costs one full combo level to deploy, so use these attacks sparingly to avoid depleting your combo meter. They’re most effective as a means of escape when your character is surrounded by swarms of goblins.
2 in 1 Attacks: Link together two attacks to boost damage and your combo meter. Start by sliding toward an enemy and while you’re in mid-slide (before you reach the enemy) prime a second attack such as a juggle, finisher, or ruiner. The damage caused by linking attacks is far greater than if the attacks were performed individually. Ruiners performed in this fashion are done so at half-price, using only 50% of their standard combo meter cost.
Dive Roll: Press the B button to execute an evasive dive roll. Get used to using this maneuver to avoid incoming missiles (fired by assault goblins) or getting knocked down by the melee troll’s hammer attacks. It’s also a good way to escape crowds of enemies, allowing you to retreat to a safe distance.
Troll Mounting: Trolls are the massive brown-colored machines equipped with giant hammers on their left arm. The easiest way to kill a troll is by mounting it and striking its fusion core. But first, you must destroy its chest armor protecting the power source; ranged or melee weapons are both effective. Once the chest armor is destroyed, run behind the troll and press the A button to perform a mounting maneuver. As the troll attempts to shake you off, lean in the opposite direction of its lurches by pushing the left control stick in the proper direction. When the troll levels out, push down on the right control stick to strike the fatal blow

My biggest beef with the demo was the camera. Aside from that, I liked it. It was by no means a mind blower, but it seems like a solid rental. I love Norse mythology so I might be a little biased.

I didn't care for the camera much my first play through. On my second time I held down the LB button when doing up close combat which kept the camera focused up close. Then I used the right stick when shooting to target enemies better. Doing those two things helped quite a bit.

There is no doubt the camera is different but it just takes some time to get used to.

I was never really interested in Too Human from the start, until a few of the more recent videos of the gameplay. I think nostalgia played a factor in what interest I had/have so when I saw the demo was available I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to add another title to the list of games I don't have time to play, or keep from adding yet one more to that list.

First off, I wasn't very impressed by the visuals. The number of characters on-screen at the same time is impressive, but otherwise, I find the visuals to be a little on the blah side of things. Kameo presented hundreds of enemies on the screen at once as a launch title back in November '05, I need more than lots of enemies to be drawn in to the game.

The combat was ok, if not a little clumsy using the right stick. While it was easy enough to move from enemy to enemy, it never felt very smooth. It felt like button-mashing with the right-stick.

The game definitely gives you an overwhelming sense of power as I was never really concerned with dying. The weaponry, and modifications to the weaponry, as well as the spider/battle cry I was able to use were pretty cool. I think I'll play through the demo again, but right now consider this no more than a rental. I never really cared much for the story as I just wanted to test the gameplay, so I skipped the majority of the cutscenes.

And like most everyone else that's commented on the Too Human demo, I was pretty annoyed by the camera.

For a game that has been in development for almost a decade I really dont think its going to be as fleshed out as it should be, even in the demo I spent most of my time changing out my armor and weapons, if that is what the real game is like this is only a rental for sure, but coop play will be very fun.

I finished the demo. Yeah... that camera is a beast. Staying in the game and getting the hang of changing it to suit your style (like holding the LB as Supa said) looks like it might solve it though.

To me, it looks like it will be a fun co-op game. I'm not real sure about the future-viking thing, but whatever. The thing that bothered me most was that often the controls were out of joint with the action. I'd move the stick to the right and try to attack, and my dude would engage an enemy on the left instead. I was certainly mashing buttons, so maybe it's that I would press attack before moving the stick in the right direction, so the computer would engage whoever it deemed most appropriate. Gave it a mushy, out of control feeling. Other than that and just generally being clueless as to what was going on, I thought it was worth a play and certainly worth trying out co-op.

Evidently you get a prize in one of those bonus rooms if you beat all the baddies in 40 secs... I never came anywhere near that though. Confusing.

Apparently there is a work around to playing all of the classes in the demo. Found this info from Toohuman.net:

If you guys would like to see a video I made of how to get the other classes. Check it out here.

And this is an excerpt from my GameFAQs post:

Some Demos have the Berserker, Champion and Commando unlocked. I am sorry if yours does not. I am not too sure how to unlock yours but, you can try this:

    1. Turn off your 360 if it is on.
    2. Unplug the Ethernet cable in the back (or wireless adapter if you swing that way).
    3. Turn on the 360.
    4. Boot up the Demo.
    5. You might have the Berserker and Commando as well as the Champion unlocked.
    6. Now you can unlock the Defender and Bio Engineer even easier.
Here is a youtube video on how to unlock some others.

My demo had the Champion only, so I am going to try both of these methods tonight.
