    The Next Big MMORPG.

Sunk almost 2 years into WoW. Got full teir 2 with my guild before the expansion came out stopped playing for a bit then tried the BC, and watched with disgust as i was replacing T2 with lvl 63 greens. Quit after i got one Char to 70 and everyone that i knew was done and finished with the lower "end-game" content so i left.

Tried WAR it was decent for the first 3-5 months the PVE was good and the RVR was innovative and challenging. Then patches and server imbalances Killed the fun and the guild dissolved most went back to WoW.

So What to you think is the Next big one to rise up and conquer WoW?

MMORPGs are the devil. Every time someone I know starts playing those, they disapear off the face of the earth. I was interested in the Marvel Comics one that was in the works, but I believe it has been cancelled since then. Also, what happened to Huxley?

i really thought that Aion stood a good chance to hurt WoW's population, but it really turned into a grind fest. honestly, i dont know of any other MMO's that are coming out, but i dont think i will ever go back to them. every time i try a new MMO i judge it based off of my opinions of EQ, and no MMO lives up to that game, so im just throwing in the towel and keeping my memories of EQ.

I played WoW for years since public beta right through until last year. I tried Aion but really did not like it one bit. It was very difficult and became boring. Sunk so many hours into it.

I am really looking forward to Jumpgate Evolution when that finally comes out next year.

    SWTOR

The newest thing to come in the form of an MMORPG is the SWTOR which stands for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

I too played WoW for a couple of years was officer in a guild used to read TankSpot blah blah blah. Left when I got bored, tried WAR which was a giggle but was too buggy. So I returned to my beloved Xbox360 which ofcourse 3 ringed on me

So I replaced it, but I still have my secrect guilty pleasure for MMORPG's so I always have my ear to the ground just incase something pops up that spikes my interest.

    And this did, oh boy did it, I could spend all day going on about it but I'll let you just go to this site;

    Star Wars: The Old Republic

    enjoy

    the cptn
I kill untill I am told to stop, and in that period I do not question the killing. To do so would be nonsense, and innappropriate. The commander has already made a determination for war, and all he expects of me is to prosecute it to the best of my abilities. A weapon doesn't question who it kills, or why. That isn't the point of weapons.

I was in on the beta test for Huxley and have to say that I did not perform my duty with it. I immediately disliked it so much that I didn't finish the intro training mission that teaches you the controls.

Most of our crew was playing EQ2 for some time, but as our schedules began to vary so greatly, we dropped off one by one. MMO is fine and all, but if I can't play with my local friends, I lose interest pretty quickly.

I agree with Cptnsmash that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be the next big MMO. I've played and tested numerous MMO's over the years, but none could really hold me in for longer than six months to a year. I'm really hoping The Old Republic will be great, and I have nothing but faith in Bioware.

    Morpg

The 'massively' part bothers me. I hate to put on the Ol' Man Poison pants, but it's hard to summon the energy to play with strangers anymore. I just don't have it in me. Something like Borderlands or L4D2 where I can have some sort of control over my experience is much more appealing. Having said that, I loved Mythos, am curious about APB, and hope something like LotRO comes to 360.

I wish that some of the MMOs they promised us on the 360 would actually happen. APB is being developed for PC and maybe the 360 now. Huxley is all but vanished.

I am interested to see how STO does when it launches next month. I have though about signing up as I used to play EVE and I love the Star Trek Universe, but I just don't have the time.

I couldn't agree more. While attending college, I worked with a girl who came very close to taking her two kids and leaving her husband because of his addiction to WoW. He finally saved his marriage, but not before deleting his WoW account, I believe.

Sorry, I know that doesn't really add to the discussion at all. I do read about MMORPG's from time to time, and I've read a lot of interesting things about the new Star Wars one. I guess if I was going to get involved, I'd hold out for that.

Has anyone ever heard of the new Star Wars MMORPG...supposed to be coming out later 2010 as of now.

It's supposed to be really good but we'll have to wait and see till it comes out

Actually, it's already been announced that it will be released sometime in Spring of 2011, still over a year from now. I expect the beta will happen sometime this fall.

APB might have the potential, if its new world and ideas can come to life and work properly.
