Then please, by all means, share your thoughts. How exactly do you propose that I make changes to other peoples' homes to reduce the echo? Silly monkey...
Seriously though, if you have experience with such things, give us pointers. We would welcome any suggestions to make improvements to the show. We are doing it for you guys! It is also fun for us!![]()
Well there are ways you can temporarily set things up in order to make a mini studio, it may take a bit of work but it can be easily done without having to make a permanant change. Though it is true everything I have thought of so far either requires having something before hand that you can work off of, or buying something, like egg crate foam, so I kinda dont want to suggest them now. One thing that has seemed to work in the past while helping my friends with a project was recording from inside a car in a quiet area, if you can do it inside a garage that would be best I know its not very good for this format of round table discussion and for most vehicles only allows for 4 people it does deaden a lot of the reverb. Another Idea is a decent sized walk in closet with clothes. Or if you want to get creative, and possibly get in touch with your inner children you could try building a "sound fort" with thick blankets.
Also the surface you set the mic on can create just as much reverberation as wall can.
If I can find my mp3 recorder I will try some things out here at home and let you know how they work.
Thanks, Milk. We will keep these things in mind, but try to remember that we don't know where we will be recording from week to week and that I am not making any modifications, permanent or temporary, to anyone else's home. Also, I am a grown-up and will not be hanging out in a blanket fort with anyone but a willing female.
When we have the means to upgrade equipment and recording space, we will, but the main point of this is to have fun and entertain, not to turn it into another job that doesn't pay, heh. Try to dial back the intensity and expectations to those levels. Sam's last name is Nelson, but he is not Major Nelson!
If you could give us a little more time, that would be great! Also, consider decaf! Have a great day, little buddy!
