Oh I'd say its true. Its coming to our iphones and the Zune is just as capable with it's wifi. Netflix Video Streaming Coming to the iPhone? - Mac Rumors
So is the ZuneHD still going to be gimped with a small amount of storage space? I don't know how you can have a music and HD video player that has less storage space than the previous music only player.
Bite yer tongue! There are no music only Zunes!
It is looking like 16GB and 32Gb, with the possibility of an 8Gb. I feel you on the capacity. This problem comes in when you switch from a HDD based player to a flash memory based unit. The HD is too small to have a HDD in it, so I don't see it's capacity being any higher than 32Gb. Also, there doesn't seem to be an expansion slot anywhere on it, nor have I heard anyone mention one. It is a bummer. I will have to get creative with syncing playlists or something along those lines to get both my podcast crackpipe and a decent selection of music on there.
I wonder if you would be able to login remotely to a Windows Home Server with the wifi connection on the ZuneHD. That would be nice, especially since you will be able to click a box to have WHS create a Zune backup of anything you record with Windows 7 Media Center. I do loves me some technology!
I think if it only has limited storage space they probably have some kind of cool new way to sync your music up on the fly. I dont think it would be too hard to just get used to adding and removing play lists or albums. Geoff you could also just tape your crack pipe to the side of it too, no more hassle.
I have my entire music collection on my current Zune.( I also have it all on my 30GB Zune but they are at a much higher compression rate)(now if I could just find my 30GB Zune) I don't want to have to worry about adding and removing content. That is what makes it so convenient.
Adding HD content to the mix makes it that much less convenient if I have to constantly worry about what content I need to delete and add every day.
prices have finally leaked out at Gizmodo. 16GB for $220 and 32GB for $290. looks like ill be skipping this rendition as well, $290 is just not worth it IMO. maybe when it releases ill change my mind.
read it here
That's $70 cheaper than the ipod touch. I think that's about right since Zune doesn't have an App Store.
Agreed. That has been my problem with this from the start. How does a great device like this not have apps? Hopefully it will have some decent games like Peggle or even the Mass Effect game that is on the App store.
I really like this device but the lack of info on apps/games is holding me back. If they come out with great games then I would ditch my psp and get this for sure.

I am definitely waiting for a feature that completely blows me away before I get one of these, I love everything about it so far but 300 dollars for only 32 gigs of memory just isnt in my ballpark right now. I think I could stick around with my 30 gig until the second generation zune hd comes out, or if there isnt a second generation, I could at least wait for a price drop or two.
Man, the UI is pure sexy.

HD still stands for HD Radio and HD output, I think. The old Zunes convert video from an HD source before syncing, so the unit can't output HD. The new one accepts video up to 720p without transcoding, so you can still output in HD, but only view at the stated resolution through the unit itself. The source material is still HD, which is quite an upgrade from what we have now. Glad to see it!
That does looks sweet! I heard the guy mention that they are working on apps and games. Hopefully more info will come on that soon. It's hard to believe that isn't gonna happen though given all the device can do. Maybe Santa needs to bring me one of these bad boys for Christmas!
I'm not entirely knocking the unit itself, don't get me wrong. I just think "HD" is somewhat misused. It accepts it, it outputs it to a TV, but it doesn't display it natively.
Better than nothing, for sure. It would come in handy and it will look even better from the 720p source downconverted into the native resolution, but still, I think the advertisers (for all companies in and out of electronics business) loosely use the term "HD" too often. Why even use it? The term itself has lost much of it's meaning.
