Having missed it in the theaters, I can't wait until its release - I hope netflix has enough copies that I can get mine relatively close to release date!!![]()
What's a DVD? I'm getting the HD DVD!
With Dolby Digital Plus only! Seriously, I may end up renting, certainly not buying until they release a double dip with some sort of lossless sound option. Good movie though.

The majority of people can't hear the difference or they don't have a system that allows them to hear the difference. I'll take 24bit 1.5mbs DD+ lossy any day over 16bit TrueHD lossless.
On something totally unrelated, what are these icons on the bottom right of each post for?
That is a shame they aren't putting out the best in audio. Still a good movie and worth buying IMO. I only wish Paramount didn't take the cash to go HD DVD exclusive.
I don't think it's necessarily people hearing the difference. I want the best audio possible if I'm going to shell out cash for a next-gen format, Bluray or HDDVD. Paramount is stiffing consumers by not offering that. Knowing them, they'll use a 640 DD+ on Transformers, as that's their track record. Paramount's been pretty shitty to both formats in the past.
You'd think that studios would want to push the new audio formats more and more. They have the video down (mostly), but why no audio?
Keezy, this should look awesome on the HD70. The movie has been digitally manipulated to crush blacks. It's also one grainy mother, but it's actual film grain and not digitally added grain ala 300. Provided no filtering was applied in mastering for HD (which can remove grain at the expense of resolution), this movie should look very filmlike. You'll have to let me know how it looks on your setup.

I will be definitely be picking it up. My 6 yr old Sony receiver sounds just fine to me!
People love to quote AVS. The movie will look and sound awesome, just like in the theaters.
Paramount's better titles are 1.5mbs DD+ 24bit. Many of the TrueHD tracks on discs are only 16bit. 1.5mbs DD+ sounds much better than 16bit True HD.
I'm all for using the lossless codecs but I'd much rather have the 24bit DD+ over 16 bit True HD. I don't see the point of TrueHD unless it's 24bit. But then TrueHD 24 bit also takes up much more space so 24bit DD+ at 1.5mbs is a good compromise. Plus I'm sure 99% of the people wouldn't be able to hear a difference. I can in one ear but my other has some hearing damage which sucks, especially since it was my stupidity by not wearing my ear plugs.
BOGO at lots of Circuit City's for this title and many other Blu-ray and HD DVD titles.
--- edit: The HD DVD version of Transformers was sold out when I got there after work today, but I know some people were able to copies.
I wish I got there earlier as the selection sucked. No Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer, Surf's Up, Day After tomorrow.
Did get Troy Uncut for $12.50 and another title.
Visiting Circuit reminds me of how bad their prices are normally $34.99 for a quite a few titles!!
Best Buy has some BOGO online as well.

Hey does anyone know if they will eventually release a "Limited Edition" version of this movie? I really dont want to buy it if a few months later they let a better version on the market.
A face can say a lot about a person, especially the mouth part.
Paramount has double dipped in the past so I wouldn't bet against them putting out another version later. I doubt it would be a few months though. If you liked the movie I'd just buy it personally.
