Norton Internet Security and Xbox 360 media sharing

For some reason Norton decided to start blocking my 360 from sharing my media....

It has worked fine until now.

It took me forever to even figure out that it was norton blocking. There were not prompts, nothing.

The 360 simply could not find my computer.

So after shutting it off and repeatedly getting media sharing to work, and trying to tweak everything. I finally gave up and just added the 360's ip address as a trusted computer in trust control.

Could adding an ip address as being completely trusted be a security concern and should I try a different solution?

    Any suggestions?

For purposes, you're probably fine with the 360 being trusted.

I'm no network or security expert, but from understanding there is a some risk with the game consoles. In theory, someone could hack into your network through the 360 or some other console. I didn't look deep into this issue. From what I read, it's more theorical and because of the ports that some people have to open or the need for the console to have traffic going in a out.

More than likely, you more of security surfing the web, that what you have now because of adware, spyware, or whatever else website put on our systems without us knowing.

And for most people, our networks aren't that hard to break into since more people use manufacture's generic SSIDs, passwords, and so forth.

For the 400th time, get rid of that piece of shit Norton and it will save you many headaches. Don't ask for help if you aren't gonna listen.

    Haha STFU! (I told him).

Anyway, I called help desk india and told them to just uninstall it and reinstall the latest version of their program.

So while I stacked a cord of wood they toiled away and fixed my issue....

All systems go. I will try the PS3 next and see if that is working now too.

Well, if you can't talk him into getting rid of the POS, maybe you should just beat him into getting rid of it, LOL.

I was looking at Blink...but I want to wait until they are a little more established and I have more time to research them.
