Just did the tweak in Firefox, very easy to do! Works pretty well as there is a noticeable difference loading pages.

Or you can install the FasterFox extension. Which does all this and more in a easy to use GUI.

nglayout.initialpaint.delay is another good tweak. This tweak allows you to change the amount of time (in msec) Firefox waits before rendering a page. A setting of 0 will cause Firefox to render as soon as it gets the info. Which will give you a web page that has all of it's contents filling in as you read. I personally prefer a setting around 500. This way the webpage is complete as it becomes viewable. The effect of this setting will depend on how phat your pipe is. Just install Fasterfox for all of the performance tweaks for Firefox.

I don't think that video is talking about IE7, as I can't find what they said to look for.
    Thanks,

I just did this tweak and I have fasterfox too, you still should go in and check this out because I still had to change some of the settings that FasterFox didn't

Hey I'm trying to speed up IE, (I don't want to hear it), by watching this video. Problem is once I get to the "Internet Settings" part of the process it doesn't show the "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server" and "MaxConnectionsPerServer" on my system. Is there another way to get to it to change the decimal value of both of these? Please help.

Prophet, I just upgraded to Firefox, to get away from IE7. It was just too painfully slow. My next upgrade will be the upgrade to my PC, into something like a quad core. I need to go balls-to-the-wall, so I can have a solid PC for more than a couple of years.
    Thanks,

    Eric

I have Firefox but rarely use it, (I'm scared of new and unfarmiliar things). My girlfriend uses it for her college apps and such but I think I'll screw around with it to try and get used to it. Maybe I'll even like it, who knows.
