Anybody know how to get rid of moss growing in your grass? The crap is growing all over my sidewalk, too - any advice on how to get rid of it without killing anything else?
About the only thing that I've found effective (aside from tearing it all out and starting again) is to pull it out by hand. It will take a few rounds, but it should work. Once you pull it out, seed and fertilize and then watch it and pull it out again if it shows up. A round or two should have it gone. If it has taken over too much, then your best bet is to tear out and start over. I've tried the lawn weed control stuff and it doesn't work (or at least the one I tried didn't).
I'm not sure what kinda turf you have up there, but you may not want to do anything with it until growing season, after things warm up a bit.
Pics of moss? About the only moss we have here is the hanging moss that appears in oak trees. One of my contractors said it's usually attracted to decaying plant life, because of the gases that death emits. So, maybe the same applies to what you're experiencing. Maybe your turf isn't healthy.
Thanks,
Eric

I saw get rid of the grass, pour some concrete and put green food coloring in it. It's green, doesn't need to be mowed, and can provide extra parking for get togethers, LOL.
On a side note, I didn't realize till just now, but my aunt lives in your town Thornes (seriously), a town of people who stab like big sissies.
