    I'll soon be on Crack...

...Berry. Just ordered a Blackberry Bold. I was not plannign to upgrade my old Cingular/HTC 8125 for probably another year. But, I found out that our local Realtor association is "retiring" our old method of accessing lockboxes, and the replacement "key" doesn't offer the same feature-set of the old one. And, my 8125 isn't supported by the new eKey system. Well, I'm making the jump.

I was thinking about why I didnt' purchase a Blackberry 3 years ago when I purchased this WinMo device. And, talking with my brother-in-law about it (he's a Verizon rep), he knew exactly why I didn't: no internet browser on Blackberry back then. But, now that internet browsing is offered, it's really a no-brainer decision.

Should have this thing by Fri or Sat.

Oh, and I'm sticking with AT&T, just in case you're wondering. They've worked out well for me, and it would have been too costly to switch to another provider.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Nice Zoomie! I've got a 'berry... love it, although I have a feeling I'd love the i-phone more (not an option here, really).

I have no idea how to make it work...

I've had my fill of touch-screen phones for a while, so the iPhone was never considered.

Nice phone Zoom. I've about had my fill of my touch screen as well. I wish I had gone with a Blackberry.

Nice Zoom... I miss Blackberry some times although the E71 I'm using now has that feel (the E71x for AT&T due out any time).

I've been enjoying my 8350i BB curve for Nextel (the one you see in the commercials). The only knock, other than having to have that damn BIS (blackberry internet service so you can use internet browsing without Wifi and email push) which is additional $40 to $50 a month is the lack of 3G support (iDEN network just isn't setup or capable of the speeds. It's like fast dialup right now).

I suggest downloading the google maps. It's pretty robust for what it is. I think it may be useful for you considering what you do for living; I assume you actually have to go see some houses.

Don't forget to check out Crackberry.com. There's all kinds of information on blackberrys there.

Yeah, I go see houses from time to time. I'll use the Navigator thing if it's free. Otherwise, I'll continue using my TomTom GO 720, which has served me very well.

Welcome to the Berry club Zoom. From what I understand most of the newer BB's should be getting an app store fairly soon. I love the fact that I can install them via the web though.

Some of my favorite apps are, Twitterberry, Opera Mini browser(bb o/s browser sucks), Facebook app, Live Search, Live Messenger, Google Maps. Most of the time you can find apps by googling for the name of an app + blackberry. The only key to installing apps on your phone via the browser is you have to use the bb browser. Other than that I just use the Opera browser.

My cousin just got the E71 and he says he loves it, and it reminds me of the Blackberry as well. BB's are great for business, but please Zoom, dont get me excited again. The thread name tricked me!

BTW, The BlackBerry can use Google Latitude, my cousin likes keeping tabs on me..."Hey! What are you doing in that part of San Francisco!?!"

    Enjoy the phone!

if you would stop hanging on Polk Street and the Castro district, he may not wondering what you're doing, LOL.

I'm waiting for Firefox to get further into BB browser. You can use it on the desktop to try the experience, but you need to have a Nokia N92 (or something like that) to actually use the beta.

Got my Blackberry last night. Very nice device. The display is crisp and bright. I'm listening to some music on it and the sound quality from the speaker(s) is incredible. I'm impressed, so far.

if you want to be die hard, you may want to consider getting a micro SD card. Your phone may be SDHC compatible, then you can really fill it up, LOL. You can pick up at SDHC 16G card for about $50 on amazon
