Shadowrun is the new multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) based on the classic RPG franchise. Team-based combat shoots into a new dimension, with a revolutionary blend of modern weaponry and ancient magic. After a 5,000 year absence, magic has returned to the world of 2021. Global corporations are in a war to to harness this reawakened power. Be a part of the RNA global megacorp and bring order (and profit) into a world of chaos, or join the Lineage to keep magic wild and free at all costs. Choose a side and wage war for the future of magic in the new world of Shadowrun. Up to 16 players battle for control of this new world through Windows Vista's Xbox 360-to-Windows Vista online compatibility.

A lot of critics either hate it or love it and more towards the hate which is too bad cause they just might be too used to regular shooters. See there are shooters like COD4 sold run & gun now with perks, Then theres Halo, Add some vehicle cool weapons and the future, You also have Tom Clancy real time games and if your really into those sometimes you tend to think this game is "whack". But the gameplay and different variations you could do is pretty amazing, This got bad reviews mainly because it had a $59.95 sticker & didnt have a real Singleplayer mode. This game had people who helped make Counter-Strike and thats what it almost is, but with a huge twist. If you ever played Counter-strike and its tweaked mods, then this is similiar to the World of Warcraft Counter-strike mod where you can use magic and technology + weapons. You also have 4 races to choose from which each have special attributes. Dwarf, Elf, Humans, & Trolls, which adds is more uniqueness to the game. Most players would use a troll during games where you have to defend the Artifact (FLAG) but some use the trolls as huge ninjas that run after you with enhanced speed technology & teleport. Once you get the hang of it you start developing your own way of playing thats different than everybody elses. Which makes this a sort of Cult classic.

Id give this a 3.5 out of 5 (A 4 out of 5 when your on with some PGL friends)

If your intrested we play Shadowrun every sunday around 8pm pst, please feel free to come join us, post your gamertag at this thread; Link - Shadowrun Sundays for the Faithful!

It can also be purchased for cheap from PGL Vendor Cool Stuff Movies, Music & Games Home Page for only $15 & probably $20 at gamestop or cheaper someplace else. I bought mine when it first came out for $59.95 but unlike Two Worlds & The Darkness, I've put in hours of play into this game and im still learning new things.

The multi-player game that no-one played, which is a shame because it has a great amount of depth and personalized style of play. I had this game from day one and then sold it only to find out that PGLers were playing it. Thanks to Lord Geoff I picked up a copy on the cheap and have joined in the fun whenever I can. Pretty to look at, easy controls and great teamplay IF you can get a good group going. The only drawback is the lack of single-player, which is surprising considering its PnP* roots.

Lord Loudog says, "Thatsanice!"

*PnP refers to Pen and Paper, old school table-top gaming.

Still one of the best MP experiences on LIve to date. Could have been better with more content downloadable; ie more maps and other characters. All in all I think alot of people (BOT and THORNES) missed out on an awesome game. No SP= No problem.
