I never even played a demo of this, but it's actually really fun! My son and I have really enjoyed playing against each other. I think I'm still learning some of the strategy involved, but it's a nice change of pace.

Yes, I know I could probably go look it up myself, but I'm lazy today - and it would mean that I'd have to leave the warm confines of PGL... So - does anyone have a short description?

I'd recommend downloading the game while it's FREE - even if you played the trial version and didn't care for it. It's FREE! Besides... you may have someone else come visit who might enjoy playing it (you can even let them use your account, so you can boost your gamerscore without "you" even having to play it)!

It's kind of like playing that game "Rampart" - without all the cannon-fire! That said... we won't be having a "Friday Night Carcassonne Fest!"

BMC and I played a round last night. I still don't get the point of the game. I beat him by 1 point. It was pretty damn funny to see the tally at the end.

The point of the game is to build land & buildings. If you use those brown tiles and close the area, the person who places a man there, gets points to how much tiles are used. That is how you get a city. The same with roads, do not forget to place a man on the road as well. You could place a man on the green field, but it is based on the land that is not block by anything. Monasteries are different, you must place a man there and fill the area around the monasteries to get 9 points. River tiles are not really that important. The goal of the game is to get the most points without losing men on the fields early in the game. Showing you how to play is another story.

Once I figured out how this game works I too have become pretty addicted. The wife and I played the crap out of it last nite.

I've played the AI many times, but could only get the wife to play it once. She liked it, but is not as interested in it.
