Thanks for the info crippler. Looks like mine has the samsung drive also We'll see how long it takes for it to sound like a rock tumbler. So as far as I know it could be a new/refubared launch unit with a new BOD Sticker, sweet!

Correct. MS started replacing the serial # and BOD with the date is was REFURBED. I bet the old mobo design is fixable and could be reliable. But my faith in the repair jobs coming out of that repair center went right out the window along with my 2nd refurb. Just pony up new units and end this madness already.

Well. My first gen (BOD 2005-12-11) console got the 3RR after over 2 years. An empty box is on the way, and I shouldn't have to pay anything. I'm guessing the whole process should take a couple weeks?
guess I shouldn't complain. It lasted longer than expected.
