It's suffering constant game crashes, and is barely playable. I hereby pronounce it dead.

I only ask because at one point I thought it was the console when in fact it was the cache on my HD. Did you try clearing the cache? | |

Lost Planet is a guaranteed 3 minute job. Pinball FX is usually within 10 minutes. Fifa 07 I managed to get 20 minutes out of.
I've tried playing games without the HDD, as per Microsoft's KB article - and it still happens. Nothing to do with my cache, evidently! =( | |

I'm good though as I bought the EW from Fry's. I haven't tried wrapping it in a towel and soaking it with a turkey baster or any other techniques to get it working. | | | |

I sent it off for repair to an independant console specialist, since Microsoft wanted to charge me as I was out of warranty.. They told me that it was stuck on the 3 red lights after attempting repair, and that something had melted between the GPU and the fans. Excellent..
I'm selling it for spares, and have now bought a second console (the 2nd one listed here is my step-dad's, not mine). The MFR date is 10/23/06. | |
