Dear Friends,
It is my sad duty to announce that FASA Studio has officially closed its doors. Today was the official last day of employment for those of us who had not moved on to other positions within Microsoft Game Studios. While the rumors have been circulating forever, we chose to wait on an official announcement because we didn’t want people’s attention distracted from our last product, Shadowrun, a game we love.
As a testament to the team's commitment to Shadowrun, we released three title updates to improve the product even after the team learned we were losing our studio. We have kept our Community Manager and Technical Support Manager on the job to aid and support you and will continue to do so while people continue to play our game. I am pleased that about half of us have found great positions elsewhere in MGS and Microsoft where they can share their experience and passion with the great people there.
But now, as the last of us say our goodbyes to each other, I’m saying goodbye to you on behalf of a group of talented and dedicated professionals who busted their humps for the love of the game. I am proud to have worked with and represented them to you and know that wherever they go, they will continue to kick ass.
Mitch

Unless there were other business-related issues, I guess it proves how tough it is to make it in this business. Shadowrun appears to be a solid game, but doesn't quite have the "edge" for some reason. Add in the fact that it's multiplay only and it's just not a keeper...

IMO, they dropped the ball on this game something fierce. You don't ship a multiplayer only game with less than 15 maps and complete control over all your customization, you just don't. Sucks that the whole studio went under though, that part really sucks.

| Wow, that sucks. I also hadn't heard anything. I love playing Shadowrun and love how much it requires teamwork to win. While there obviously won't be any new patches or whatnot, I hope the game itself keeps on trucking. I still enjoy the heck out of it. | |

Tell us how you really feel...
I didn't hate it, I just thought it felt incomplete, and I can't really get into a game that I feel wasn't finished in the first place (much like I didn't really love the shit out of Halo 2's story), so I had to pass on it.

Of course, MS really screwed them by A) giving Shadowrun a $60 pricepoint and B) releasing the game during the second week of the Halo 3 beta.
Sad. | |

| Yes that does suck that they are closing down, But I think SHadowrun felt too much heat from not having a Singleplayer, I could care less about that and since Bioshock doesn't have a multiplayer i could care less about that game the exact same way people dont care about Shadowrun. I get much joy out of Using stratedgy w/teamwork and Katanas and Teleport than i do with Plasmids, BD's and Hackable bots. Most people didn't give it a chance to see how the replay value is and how it keeps making you come back and try different things. I have played this game so many times but just yesterday i found a New Route to take on one of the maps that makes me 7 seconds faster than everyone else. Its amazing what you could do with Some of the magic and the different combos you could do. Landing right behind a Guy through teleporting without him knowing and cutting him up is a pleasure that must be felt. But to each their own and I wish all the people who made Shadowrun luck cause that game truely came out the Underdog, & for some reason i feel that this game will be played still, After Halo and many other games are out. Im pretty sure it has a Cult following type fan base its just too unique of game play not too. in many ways its like TFC NoT OVERLY POPULAR but fun & unique enough to have a strong community following. | |

| Holy crap Alpha. You were super damn fast to begin with. I can only imagine how quickly those rounds will be over if you've shaved off 7 seconds. | |
