Wow; this is good news for those of you wanting the HD-DVD add-on. Although that does bring the cost of the HD-DVD add-on drive and the HDMI cable up to only about $100 less than a stand alone Toshiba HD-A1.

It'll be interesting come next month to see what people think about this. You hear speculations and you hear people's thoughts on it right now but, I haven't heard anything from anyone "qualified" or "qualified reviewers". I wonder if it'll truly match the level of PQ that the Toshiba units are putting out. I wonder how fast it'll truly load a disk. So far I am hearing good things about that department but, would like to hear more on it.
Not sure if I'll pick it up right away... may just put it on my Christmas list.

Ummm, why would you need more cables? The current cables you're using is all you need. The drive connects to the 360 via USB and transfers data this way(unless Im very very mistaken, in which case Please correct me so I dont make more of an ass of myself in the future).

No HDMI cable has been confirmed, even though some sites have them posted. Until MS confirms it, Im not believing it.
It would plug into the 360 Im guessing.

No, no one would need the cables, I just thought in the last podcast when Major Nelson was talking about the HD-DVD they said it ships with cables, but maybe that was just the usb cable they were talking about. I wasn't paying very close attention to it at all.

That sounds right. So does the HDMI plug into the 360 or the HD-DVD drive?

IF an HDMI cable is released, it woul dneed to plug into the 360 since the 360 does ALL of the processing.
