I know the couple of times I was in on a wreck I thought it was totally someone else's fault! I'm not casting dispersions on anyone... I'm just wondering if there's something glitchy going on in the online game, like maybe your car moves differently on other people's screens than it does on yours?
For example, when we started the race oval track I was inside, second row. Generator Leon was ahead of me I think, and Jon Liu (Electro) was inside front row. When the race started, Jon's car lurched immediately left and almost straight into Leon's car (I maybe getting my lefts and rights confused... ) I was able to get around and had a clear track ahead of me, which made the race kind anti-climactic on an a pure oval. Anyway, later Jon made some reference to Leon running into him!
I ask not because I'm calling out Jon... I'm just seriously wondering if he saw something different on his screen, because stuff like that happened several times.
Of course you always blame the guy who hit you-- whether he got hit and bounced into you or not... in New York in that massive crash out of the gate I got pinned on the wall by someone < cough, cough > Huff< cough, cough > and pinballed into someguys behind me... then I got blamed.
What do you think? Different views, or just friendly scapegoating?
Does anyone use the hood view, or does everyone use a full car view?

It looked like you and Peench had plenty of room on both sides to the walls, and then you got *pinched* and cut the tail off of me. That's how it looked in my view. We were all in very close proximity, but it look like there was plenty of room for me to get right between you both.
It was still a blast, and I kind of like the wrecks! It's a way of keeping the really good guys from winning every race!! Plus, while not to the same degree, it happens in real racing all the time...NASCAR, INDY, etc.

| Well I have to say that after we finished up last night I went and watched a live race going on. The guys racing were very good and in a 6 lap race their was only one accident. Everyone was passing and driving very well. So to be honest I think we all just suck and need more practice. | |

Since the races are pretty short, who cares. I think I laughed every time I got hit...
Good to hear your view of the New York thing. I wonder if I saved that video... I saved several last night, I'll have to try to look at it.
Funny thing is, everything happens so fast, it's liable to look entirely different when I look at it tonight... I'll probably look at it and decide it was all totally my fault!

I say those guys need to get a life!
Yeah, you're right. We need more practice. Well, at least I do...

| With the hood view, you can't see anything BUT right in front of you, so if you cut someone off, you're nonethewiser unless says something or an accident happens.
I could've swore I went straight and I thought it did look like I went straight on the speedway...
Whether or not I did, I hope, if I did in fact cause the crash and with all the other crashes, people still have fun!

Seriously though, it was totally fun the other night. If anyone wants to actually complain about wrecks, they should race elsewhere. I just wanted to know what other people are seeing on their screen when it happens because there seems to be such a wide discrepancy in the interpretation of what actually happened-- and on multiple occassions, not just with you. Yours just happened to be the one that was right out in front of everyone while the whole pack was right there together, so everyone saw it. Lucky you!

| One thing that I find myself doing on the faster tracks is spinning people out unintentionally. I like to draft right on peoples rear bumpers and by doing so it will get their car loose without me even touching them. Forza is realistic enough that when someone is behind you it will cause you to loose downforce on the rear of your car and it get's loose. If you panic and over correct around you go. I use to race with a group of guys on F1 that would do it all the time for grins and giggles so you get real good at controlling your car in that situation, or a quick ebrake solves the problem as well.
Jon is right though about the in car view. That's the only way I race and it is tough to see when someone is right next to you. When I race I'll usually call out what side I'm passing them on to give them a heads up to not cut in that way for a second. I think Jon's a blocker by heart though and that's why he hits you all the time when you try and pass.

| haha, Alter.
I usually call out my position to everyone, but the one time I didn't, on the speedway, no less, Woundup shanked me!
I guess that shows me I need to call out EVERY time!
