How dare them! That's just insane.
Well I'll be looking for ya!
I like some sandbox games, but at the same time, I like some direction in my games too. I like to feel like I'm in control of the story but also to have the story told to me and unfold before my actions. I had some issues with the old GTA's (played em once they made it to the Xbox) in that I got bored.
I think I liked Crackdown partly because there were bosses to take out, but also because there were other things to do that made me explore the city. Orb hunting and the other activities available became huge. There was a little of that in Saints Row as well which held my interest.
The new way to get things done (hang out with people and hope they give you something to do) may be fun, but I hope there isn't too much down time. I guess I'm not much into the second life sim type games where there really isn't direction and I have to decide what to do with myself. I have a hard enough time doing that every day in real life to have to grapple with that in a game!! haha.
