Wireless network adapter
Could one, if one were so inclined, remove an ordinary Xbox's wireless network adapter, plug it into a 360's network port, and have it work?

Well, it's currently working with my nephew's Xbox, so I don't imagine that's a problem (he's getting a 360 from Santa)--I was just wondering whether I NEEDED to drop EIGHTY STINKING BUCKS so he could stay on Xbox Live.
Thanks!

Curious, will it work with my PS3?
I have the wifi adapter for my 360 but have the 20GB PS3.

As long as its a USB connection on the PS3 like the 360 I bet it works. How much are they for it. Thats the thing with the OG xbox it uses the Ethernet so it has to plug into the "wired port on the 360" but to answer Johns post Yes they are interchangable.

I believe the Xbox adapter is simply a bridge. I used a bridge with my original Xbox and then moved it over to my HDA1 and it works fine. It will work with the360 and my guess is that it will work with your PS3. Definitely let us know for sure tho!

The wireless adapter is built into the PS3 so all you need to do is turn it on and configure. It has worked great so far and has was very easy to set up; all I needed to do was get my code right and I was good to go.
John I never bought a new wireless adapter for my 360 and just used the old Xbox adapter.

I've got the 20GB Rhino, just the ethernet connection.
I did plug the 360 wifi piece in, red light turned on and all. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work though. Kept saying no ethernet connection. I try messing with the settings and stuff, but I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes down to it.

ethernet only then I bet. shouldn't need any setting changes. So Sony doesn't offer a wireless adapter yet for you guys that got the 20GB? thats stupid.

Well I can just go online and spend $20 for a bridge or something, but yeah they could always pull in some revenue by selling their own Wifi adapter for $100 like MS. Kind of surprised Sony isn't trying to get more accessory sells, indeed stupid. They should have been pushing Sony HDMI cables, Sony Remote (from day 1), Wifi piece, etc.
