when you file a complaint on xbox live what actually happens, i mean does it actually do anything or does it just kinda get ignored.

i wanted to know because there was some guy who i played on pro evolution soccer 6 earlier who cheated to win, i was losing 1-0 and then the game lagged really badly and pretty much completely stopped for a few minutes, so i'm like oh well at least the other guys getting lag aswell, and then when it started again i was losing 3-0.

obviously he had no lag at all, i dont know how he did it so maybe one of u guys could explain how.

I have seen it many times in Halo 2. It's called standbying. Do a search on it. It's basically hitting the standby button on your cable/dsl router. In certain games it forces everyone to standby and while they are waiting to re connect the host can run around scoring,shooting, etc. Bungie patched thier game to make it less attractive for cheaters. I'm sure its a glitch in other games. Wondermonkey only does it when he is loosing.

As far as the complaint. Bungie would ban people from the game. I haven't heard of other game makers doing that. maybe if there are enough complaints your live account would get suspended.

Microsoft reviews the complaints sent in to determine if people are or have been cheating and will take various steps to punish the offenders. The more people use the rating/complaint system, the better it will work.

thanks for the info, i hope that guy does get his account suspended or whatever he was such an a**hole he even sent me a message asking if i was gonna quit the game.

That's horrible. People like that are the reason that PGL exists. We're creating a community where people who want to game can come together, hang out and game together - without the cheating and name calling and all the rest of the annoyances out there. Hopefully you can find more PGL members online to play with soon.

i don't mind name calling and insults etc.....i just dish it out back to them twice as bad, for some reason they always go silent after that....hmmm..

I don't lose, and I sure as hell don't loose either. And the only time I used to standby is when you and I were on a 2 v. 2 team, and I did it so you would lag out! Oh wait, you used to do that no matter what! HA!

Yes, and I think your feedback carries more weight if you leave good and bad feedback. If Negative Nancy only leaves bad feedback, MS will only give so much thought to her feedback. Also, it takes negative feedback from multiple people/occasions to have any action taken. I think they ban you for a day/week/month etc.

Yea some a-hole gave me a negative rating in perfect dark zero cause we were on the same team in capture the flag and all he kept doing was grabbing the other teams flag running away and then just stand there like an idiot while laughing over his headset. He would not even try to bring the flag back to our base. Well being the great teammate I was, everytime I would see him grab the flag I would relieve him of flag carrying by shooting him in the head with a shotgun. Well now I have one negative rating on my live profile because of him.

I was just looking at my rep:

90% Preferred you or did not leave feedback

10% avoided you.

Complaints:
25% Agressive Playing
75% Quitting Early

The titles are not verbatim, but it was something along those lines. I'm thinking I scored 4 complaints, unless they rounded to a 25/75 percentage.

I need some more preferred votes to get mine back up. I play a lot of Chrome Hounds and people get pissed off when they lose and the give bad feedback, so mine has dropped a lot recently. There are 3 ways to win in chrome hounds,
1. kill all enemy hounds
2. capture more combas then your opponent.
3. destroy the enemy base.
So if I choose to take a speedy hound and destroy the enemy base they get pissed and give bad feedback. Madden is also good for getting bad feedback when you beat someone, or when you leave the game because your opponent is a cheating , glitch abusing a hole.

Currently mine is:
68% preferred you or did not leave feedback
31% Avoided you

Trash talk 2%
Bad language 5%

Aggressive 11%
Unsporting 26%
Quit Early 35%

They give unsporting in chrome hounds because they feel if you just destroy the base it's a cheap move. Hey it's one of the 3 ways to win the match!
I'm at the point now with this game that I wont even play matches against people anymore, I just play against the CPU. It's not as fun but my rep is taking a beating.

The quit early's are from Madden. There are a ton of people who abuse the cheese and glitch plays on line, when they do that with me, I just quit the game. I tell them I am quitting because I do not waste my gaming time with cheaters and glitchers then I quit, they never respond when I tell them I'm leaving the game. The next day my quit percentage is always higher. I think the feedback system is very flawed and total bullshit.
