Going from GoW, to RS6 Vegas to F.E.A.R

When JohnW bought his 360 a short while ago, we both went to a Target near my house to get some games we could play together. We bought F.E.A.R., Gears of War, and Rainbow 6 Vegas. We played through GoW on normal, we are going to go through insane next. We are really close to finishing Rainbow Vegas on realistic coop. So in the times that I wait for my partner to get home so we can play together I start playing FEAR single player.

I'm sorry, but after playing Gears and Rainbow, this game is weak! Graphics lame, control of the character is not very smooth at all, and so far the story is so-so. I bought this game because a couple of friends played through it on PCs and said it was scary. Now I love to be scared, and occasionally the game will throw something scary my way, but overall just not impressed.

Gears of War - Thumbs up, but short.
Rainbow 6 Vegas - Thumbs up. Just plain awesome.
FEAR - I give this game the finger.

Haha... I wasn't a huge fan of the graphics in Fear, but there were a couple of parts in the demo where I was a bit scared. I think Condemned is probably a better game if you wanna be scared and enjoy the gaming experience too.

take into consideration that Fear was made in like 2004 or something like that. Maybe 2005. Graphics and games have come a long way, especially on the 360. So comparing the graphics of that which is running off the Half Life 2 source engine, to two games that run on the Unreal 3 engine are hardly comparable. It was somewhat of a hard move for them to release FEAR for the 360 when they did because there are so many graphical giants and huge games that just overshadow it by far.

Agreed.

Great game and I planned on picking it up at full price before I touched Gears of war but that changed everything. I'll pick it up when its 30 or so.

yeah a price cut is definitely in order for that game.

Well, I finished it last night... Not a terrible game, parts reminded me of the original Half-Life, others were like System Shock 2 (dating myself here). I recommend renting or buying used.

I think Best Buy has FEAR for $45 this week, but I'll wait until I can get it cheaper.
