| Halo Books I finished First Strike yesterday and WTH?? The books started off and I knew what was going on, after finishing First Strike I'm back to wondering so many things! It's awesome and frustrating at the same time. I can't wait for the next book and for Halo 3 now!
Wonder - do you have a link for the Halo and Halo2 cutscenes on YouTube? I can't seem to find it. Now that I'm done with the novels I'd like to go back and see all of them again.
Anyone else think that the crazy Cortana is a result of the replicating program or simply lifespan of AIs? Dang, I have so many questions!! Anyone care to discuss a few?

I think the Cortana we saw in Halo 2 and will likely see in Halo 3 is definitely a corrupt AI now. She also has a thirst for knowledge like nobody's business.
I also think that Sgt. Johnson was part of the Spartan I program, even though they explain his disease as the reason the Flood don't attack him. I have a feeling it was part of his training to contract it.
If you haven't picked up the Halo Graphic Novel yet I suggest doing so. There is some interesting background on the Flood as well as a very weird story about a Spartan we're not familiar with yet.
Now, for your viewing pleasure... Halo Cutscenes

| I picked up the graphic novel this weekend and strated reading thru it last night. Very interesting indeed. I'm a little ways into the first one where the flood and Covenant interact.
Man, the corrup Cortana and the extra spartans and the missing Dr. and the "minor setback" only and the fact that the Covenant found fragments of the crystal and it might help them do... uh something. I'm pumped to read more!
Thanks for the links Wonder!

I gave my set to my lady's dad after I tore through them. We spent about an hour during our last fishing trip debating what was going to happen in this next book. I can't wait!!
A corrupt Cortana was definitely bound to happen...I keep wondering if she is going to get a cyborg spartan suit of her own eventually allowing her to attain some sense of humanity and stability, thereby avoid the degenerative cycle her current programming is subject to....but she is based on the doctor's personality so her loyatly to Master Chief will be what pulls her through.

| Oh man, the books are amazing. Thank you guys for suggesting them. They were great reads! I had so many questions and thoughts and ideas. Oddly enough I can't think of any right now.
Johnson is very interesting indeed. How did he survive the blast at the end of Halo? Looks also like the Guilty Spark survived Halo's destruction. I wonder what he's up to... especially considering he was able to access Cortana's info. I feel like such a geek, but the books were great.

| I wonder if Cortana was able to copy off portions of her info database about the ONI stuff and MC stuff that Halsey deleted before she was able to delete it? If she got the extra space/running room by using that copy, maybe she figured it would make sense to keep doing it to get the extra running space, etc?
I'm pumped for more from this series!

| So that clip of the Halo 3 announcement from E3 must have been on the planet Onyx. That huge thing that opened up must be that technology. I wonder what happened to the rest of the marines tho...? | |

That trailer is not from the beginning of Halo 3, the trailer picks up a little ways into the Halo 3 story according to Bungie.
The huge thing that opened is, IMO, the Ark.

| Dang, apparently I'm more confused than I thought I was.
Care to elaborate on your Ark theory?

There's a reason the Covenant attacked a small part of Earth (New Mombassa), and I think it's because no other part of Earth mattered.

| Interesting. So how is it that the Covenant don't know that the Halo rings destroy all life forms? | |
