See Gears of War 2 Tonight!
IGN: See Gears of War 2 Tonight
See Gears of War 2 Tonight
Two-minute trailer coming before day's end.
by IGN Staff
May 9, 2008 - Now that GTA IV has been released, Gears of War 2 takes the crown as the most-anticipated upcoming Xbox 360 title. The first true Gears 2 trailer -- said to be approximately two minutes long -- will be made available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace at 11pm PST tonight and on IGN shortly thereafter.
The trailer includes a special introduction by Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski and a first look at chainsaw duels and ranged combat on a much larger scale than what was seen in the original.
Gears of War 2 is set for a November release.

They really bumped up the graphics this time. It has to be the sharpest looking game I've ever seen

Not bad. There are two things I'm hoping for in the sequel:
- An AI teammate who isn't a twitching braindead chipmunk with a 0.2 second attention span
- An intelligible story
I never played multiplayer, and had to play the campaign solo for the most part, so that may have affect on my expectations for the second one.
And since this is tangentially related to GoW, here's the music video for Gary Jules' Mad World that was used as a theme for the GoW commercial. It's a cool video (but a sad song):
The commercial it was used in is the only reason I even played GoW, but I am looking forward to the sequel.

I agree with Bryan, this game is probably the sharpest console game I've ever seen. I just hate the brown color pallet, whatever happened to vibrant colors? Either way, I can't wait to backwards, upside-down chainsaw Supa and Pickle(Prophet gets a pass...this time).

Very nice, looks like they improved the lighting and have some color now!
I'd really like to see some MP footage, hopefully you can use that hostage move (maybe instead of the finisher). I'd also like ducking anywhere you want instead of just on a wall.

I like the ducking anywhere idea, I'm also hoping for 4 player coop and some new MP game modes. Oh more weapons would be nice as well.

Wow, I didn't like GoW, but that video was pretty intense. I'll wait to see what the MP looks like before I decide to buy it.
