I didn't realize you would have to redownlaod the arcade games and content. Kind of sucks. I know when you buy them, they're yours forever, as a matter of speaking. I've gone to friends' houses, and download the GRAW content I had under my profile on their machine, otherwise it wouldn't be accessable. I just assumed it went by the HDD info, not the 360 console.
On a side note, if you installed the HD DVD drive and get a new console, as long as you use the same HDD, you don't need to reinstall the drive.

They must have just implemented this. Because I have re-downloaded a number of arcade titles previously thinking that it would work. Nope. Anyway, this is GREAT news and a long time coming. Way to straighten your DRM out MS.

Yep - this is a new feature and I think there is another aspect of it that they haven't announced yet.
Bot - you have to redownload it to get it to sync up with your system and resolve the "different console - same ID" problem so that the arcade games can be played even when not connected to Live.

I wasn't questioning Geoff so much. The GRAW incident was about two months ago. Doesn't mean M$ didn't change things since that time. I have all the free full versions of arcade games that have been offered. But I hardly play them. So this thread is a nice so I know in the future; assuming I remember.

I just remembered that I traded in the craptastic refurb. So this doesn't work for me. They really need to allow you to transfer licenses to a new console too with a call to service or a license transfer option in the dash. This DRM shit is BS> My wife has totally stopped playing arcade games since my first 360 went on me. She doesn't want to deal with having to sit there and sign my account in every time she wants to play a quick game of Ms Pac Man.

Heh, Bot called Sam Geoff. Also, I believe that this has been around for a bit, but the trick is to re-download the item from your download history page. He specifically said that this ties the license to the new system, so this should work for you, Cripp.

Nah, I tried it last night. I couldn't play anything without being logged into my account.

It's not the first time I've used the wrong name between Sam and Geoff.
