You poor bastage..
That makes one top of the line receiver from Pioneer? One HD-A1, lost count on the 360's.. Soon to be 4-5 PS3's...

| no, if I get a PS3, and it fails on me... I am returning it and waiting until I know it's a lot more stable before considering getting another one.
That's a BIG if! | |

| funny thing is.. as "many" problems I've had with electronics, there've been 10x more that I haven't had any problems with! I think the problems I have are because I am overall an early adopter which always comes with inherent problems. | |

I nab things as soon as they are available as well(HD-DVD being the first time Im not doing this) and have never had anything go bad on me(except a couple of ps1's but those were bought 2 or 3 years into its lifecycle so my streak still marches on).

| yeah, being an early adopter to a lot of the high-tech electronics proves to have it's fair share of problems. I mean... the Toshiba HD-A1 had a ton of problems on first release, for example. Not to mention, I got my Pioneer Elite receiver like a month after it was released and the firmware got upgraded pretty quickly after that to fix the HDMI issues and whatnot. Not to mention, computer parts as well. I used to get the latest and greatest graphics cards (still have my ATi Radeon X850XT) and they go through software upgrades pretty darn quickly too, to remedy/resolve issues.
So, I would definitely consider myself a VERY early adopter in a lot of aspects.

If one waits around for all problems to be solved in a product, they might miss a couple years worth of enjoyment they could have had. I'd much rather get it early on and become more intimate with it.

| Fortunately I've rarely had problems with my electronics over the years. For the past 5 I've run all my electronics I have through a UPS. Since I'm in a condo I can't get a generator/battery backup system so I had to get local UPS units for everything. It definitely comes in handy since I can stay online or watch TV for several hours if the power is out. | |
