His speech was titled ""Fear of a Wii Planet", and he wasted no time ripping into Nintendo's latest console. "The Wii is a piece of s***!" Hecker exclaimed, obviously not shy about his feelings. He compared the console to two GameCubes stuck together with duct tape.
"It's not clear to me that Nintendo gives a s*** about games as an art form," he said, explaining how the Wii is "severely underpowered".
His two demands of Nintendo are to treat games as art and with the respect they deserve, and to "make a console that doesn't suck *ss." link

| Yeah Nintendo blows. That's why in any given store in my area there are 40-50 ps3's laying around and not one Wii. I am so foolish for buying into Nintendo's propaganda and picking one up. | |

He was also mainly having problems with the Wii being underpowered to the point of it not being able to absorb some of the "complex AI" aspects of the game. It’s pretty hard to take a comment like that back after throwing a tantrum on stage.

| Wow. Waaaay over the top. Its a different platform. I could see being pissed off because games that might work on both the PS3 and the 360 might have to be redone or done differently on the Wii, but to call it a piece of crap... wrong. The system is fun and that's the bottom line. | |

| Yeah, calling it a piece of crap is pretty uncalled for. Nintendo stated from the get-go that it was going in a different direction. The Wii is family oriented and a lot more "party" friendly than either the PS3 or the Xbox 360. As far as games being redone and stuff, I think that the "dumbed-down" graphics might have a benefit. Gore and violence is less obtrusive if you can't quite make it out entirely, right?? | |

Not that it was underpowered or anything, but I just don't feel there are any games for aside from Wii Sports and Zelda. All other games that use the Wiimote are simply gimmicky for me. I know it takes some time, but why not make some cash NOW and buy another later when you want a certain game?

| an open boxed one will sell probably for less than $300. Maybe right around where you paid. Might as well keep it, Brad. My friend just sold a brand new one for about $300 plus made a tiny bit on shipping as well so it ultimately was about $50 bucks that he made off of it. Honestly, not that much of a deal when you consider all the hassle it takes to put the listing up, pay for the listing, pay paypal fees and such. The profit ended up being like $30-35 for him. | |

The Wii would have been way cool 5 years ago. It has a lot to prove in the current market. To not fully support HD gaming set us way back in the dark ages just like buying anything less than 1080i/widescreen in the past 7+ years.
For an adult gamer that does not have children in the 4-8 year old range, this way overhyped console is not for you. Also, I have had an absolute blast with the new Wii when my wife and neighbors had way too much to drink. But when it comes to repeat performances, no one is really that interested.
I would never buy a Zelda game if my life depended on it so that pretty much qualifies me as a Nintendo hater. However, they now have $500+ of my hard earned cash and have failed to deliver. SSX - control scheme too hard but working on it, Sonic - sucks, everything else way too childish. Tiger comes out tomorrow and it could have changed everything for me. Based on reviews focusing on poor graphics, the "The Wii really is a piece of s***!"
- Nintendo supporter/hater, depending on alcohol consumption at the time.

| Hmmm, I still have interest in getting a Wii. Hell just last wekend I was rocking the ish out of my gamecube! Had a few friends over and popped in some mario party and mario kart. It was old school stuff but, it it kicked the pants out of any current gen gaming experience we could've had minus a Wii. Don't sell it Biffco, hang on to that sucker!! | |
