I wish we had just gotten married at city hall and taken the wedding budget for a new house... | This is great advise, in my opinion. I haven't gotten married (no lady dumb enough, LOL), but I've got friends who are DJs and have helped them, more times than I care to remember, with gigs, which were usually weddings. This I think is especially true for younger people with limited resources. In the area I live, a cheap wedding is $15K. If one is older and can afford such a thing and just wants people to watch/witness the vows, then great. Otherwise, I say go to the cityhall, bring the parents, a few friends and spend the few dollars. And so you can have your celebration, just throw a nice big party at the house. Of course, this usually doesn't go over well with ladies, so instead of wedding gifts from the store, you could just have the guest actually pay for the wedding, assuming her dad is fronting the bill, LOL.
You just have to think about why you really want to have a wedding? What are you accomplishing? And then what are your goals in the future with the girl, and how much longer it will take do them.

Much like we dream of a wall-sized 1080p plasma that shows all content in pristine HD and every movie ever at the tip of our fingers in full HD, most girls have dreams about their weddings (and those dreams usually don't include city hall). I'm not knocking anyone who has done this, I'm just cautioning to be careful with that sentiment. And based on 10 years of marriage, I can tell you this is one of those little girl dreams that most women won't readily admit to, but the perfect wedding has been programmed into their being (just look at any of those Disney Princess movies that any of us who have little girls know all about).
Now on the other hand, taking $250 away from the wedding fund will not break the bank, and in my opinion is well worth it because it will give you two something fun to do together. Another idea is that you could always tell your families that you would like a Wii as an engagement or wedding gift (if you don't mind waiting that long).

But I don't think I would be willing to pay more then retail for it. I did pay more then retail for my 360, but that had online play, and I NEEDED to play!
I still have not seen a Wii in stock yet in Sacramento. Ever. Crazy....
Oh, I only have one level left on Rayman until I have all games unlocked! Next will be Wario.

| Sears supposedly had them in for a few minutes. In fact, at this very moment the product page still shows it as in stock. When you add to cart and then try to check out, you are told the item is no longer available. | |
