Broke Down and Ordered a Bundle
Was trying for the last couple weeks to find a Wii or small bundle with no luck. Saw a larger bundle at Toys R Us online and caved in. Must have a Wii after playing at a friend's house.
It came with the following games, can any Wii players comment on these? A couple are questionable, I guess I can sell them on ebay or something.
Zelda - Of course I want this one!
Marvel: UA - Decent game, I am renting for the Xbox 360 though. I could send the rental back and restart on the Wii.
COD3 - Own COD2 for the Xbox 360 already, not sure I can handle another of the same thing.
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam - Should be a fun racer?
Madden '07 - Am curious on this one, played on the 360 already, so hopefully the graphics don't ruin it. I heard the gameplay is best on the Wii.
Can't wait to start playing! Mainly wanted Zelda and Wii Sports, but oh well. haha

I'm not a Wii owner, so I can't comment on which of these are the best. But I will say-- if you're thinking about getting COD3, get it for the 360 and play in the PGL War with us. It's a great game.

I agree. The innovation with the Wiimote might be a novel idea, but I think it would ultimately be hard to play long periods of time. At least, specifically, for CoD3

Congrats on joining Wii ownership!
My thoughts so far have been to use the Wii for family time and games and to get FPS's on either the PS3 or the 360. If I want a game that I can play online with people, I'll buy it on the 360. If it doesn't exist on the 360, I'll get it on the PS3. If it looks like fun for the entire family, I'll get it on the Wii. Dang, I don't want to add it all up, but I think I have all the bases covered! haha.
There seem to be more than few games coming out for the Wii that look like they are going to be fun. I'd say look for those titles!

Zelda is fun. Swinging the Wiimote for your sword is a blast.
I would agree about the FPS'ers though. Let the 360 do those. My Wii is for offline play with friends and family. Last night we played the sports games for about four hours! Tennis is still our favorite.

One of my friends owns CoD3 for the Wii and I would give it thumbs down. The controls are super difficult, meaning you pretty much have to learn to walk and aim all over again. I tried to play it but I had trouble getting a bead on Gerry's while looking down the rifle. On the 360, I had no problem aiming at all. The dual analog stuff just works, so why mess with perfection? Trade it in IMO.
Marvel UA is a blast playing coop with, though I can't fathom going back to the Wii version after playing the 360 version. I'm not a graphics whore by any means, but the fact that it looks and sounds so much better on the 360, and the fact that it has online coop sold me on the 360 version. Good party game though. My arm just got tired from swinging the Wiimote too much.
Also, preordering Wii Play from either EB Games or GameStop will get you a free Wiimote (sans Nunchuck attachemnt) when you pick up the game.

Thanks for the info and welcome to the Wii zone. I agree with you guys on the FPS games. I'll probably sell COD3 and Marvel: UA. I should pick up COD3 on the 360, although I haven't been online much to play with you guys....only co-op'd Gears of War one night so far. I get so sucked into my single player RPGs. heh, won't help when Zelda arrives either.
Wii Play sounds like a good multiplayer game (can't beat the free wiimote either). I'm also looking at Rayman and Monkeyball for cheesy party games. Played both and with a few beers they are quite crazy. Tony Hawk should be a unique racing game, I hear it plays similar to the Excite Truck which I had fun with at my father-n-law's.
I'll let ya know when the bundle arrives!

Smart move on the bundle, the Wii is now officially way harder to find than the 360 was at launch and that was a total disaster. Nintendo is still doing direct to store drop shipments (a handful at a time) from my understanding so it makes it nearly impossible. You can't rely on Target at opening for example.
I gave up my daily Wii search after New Years. Appreciate all the updates guys. I might still grab one some day.

Good luck on the search Tampa! I hope you can find one soon. My family and I have had some good fun and we haven't played with anything other than the Miis (my kids love dragging them around by their heads), and Wii sports. I have two more games, but don't want to break em out until they tire of these.

Make sure you get some component cables. I got mine via FedEx yesterday and was simply astounded at the upgrade. Zelda looks absolutely beautiful, where as before it just looked muddy and washed out. I can't wait to play it more now!
BTW, all the Virtual Console games you download display in 480p! They're not 16:9 though.

I'm very, very tempted to Wii-up right now... but I'm gonna wait until they are on the shelves and a few more games come out. I've got $255 in Best Buy gift certificates burning a hole in my pocket after Christmas. Good thing the Wii isn't readily available yet or it'd be gone already.
Not sure why I'm tempted-- I don't even have enough time to play my 360 games. I guess it's just the novelty of it. I think the kids would go muts with it, especially my boy.

My daughter asks (begs) me to play Zelda every single day. She watches and helps me spot things and figure out the riddles. She loves the story and is really into it. So we play for about an hour everyday day. Fun for both of us!
Then she is off to bed and I switch to GOW!
Oh, I never played my Wii without the component cables, so I can't compare before and after. I feel the graphics are ok. The worst thing, and not to sound look Spoon, is the jaggies. Some graphics look really good, and then others, ahhh, not so great. But that is what I expected and I am not upset or complaining. Tennis is still my favorite Wii game, and I dont even have legs!!!!
