Circuit City Sux!

CC advertises this week the WII. Their add reads “ no rainchecks, 1 per household blah blah, MINIMUM 20 PER STORE. " All the major stores had a re - WII launch Sunday am.

I decide to go to CC at 5:15 am Sunday morning in cold weather. I am about 23rd in line. With a minimum of 20 per store I figure I have a great shot. Store hours 8am-11pm, so around 7am people start stirring, putting chairs and blankets back in cars, family members showing up for moral support..

By 7:30am there are close to 80 people outside, inline, in cars getting warm. How many are there? When are they handing out tickets? WTF.

At 7:55am, they put a sign in the window. “we have less than 20 WII’s” People are restless, angry, cold…

At 8:15 the Ahole walks out and announces “we have 6” and hands out tickets. that’s right. 6.

I go in when the doors finally open (about 8:20) just to see for myself, get warm, and tell off the manager.

I tell him in a very LOUD voice. “ you couldn’t have told us this at 7 or 6?” he says “we just found out” I yell “ Bull SH!t”, “ you gave them them out to employees”. I called him many choice words, he threatened to call the Police. Any way, I didn’t get one again.

And CC changed their weekly store ad online. It no longer reads Minimum 20 per store.
My boycott is officially underway.

That does suck. I'm not a fan of CC; haven't been for a while. They push too much of an agenda. For example, the whole pushing of BR because of Sony is dishonest.

That sucks Pro. A neighbor of mine had a similar situation a CC for the big shipment two Sunday's ago. I just missed one at Target that day.

Target and CC were stone cold locks this past Sunday, for anyone willing to get out that early. I agree with you 100%, there is no other explanation other than they went to friends and families before you.

For a console that was supposed to be readily available, it sure has dried up for most people to get before Xmas. Too bad, Nintendo was really on the right track unlike the BS release of the 360 and PS3.

They did the same thing to me at Gamestop a few weeks back. Good to hear you vented on him- not enough people do that to the right people. Directed vented anger is healthy, I do it all the time.

Ya I'm a pretty mellow guy, and I know his job is tough, but couldn't they post the sign in the window the night before (like gamestop did " we have 9"). Its not like a truck showed up at 8am on a Sunday.

What really pushed me was the guy waiting till after 8 to tell us. If I had known at 5:30 am they had 6, I would have went to another store or back to bed.

I was really close to getting myself in big trouble on Sunday.

The truck came between noon and 5 on Saturdays when I worked there. That is awful man, sorry about that. Chewing out the manager is the best way to go, because the ish gets passed down. You know that stock worker heard it from every person of authority from the stockroom manager to the store manager.

When I worked at Short Circuit City I believe the trucks came on Wed. and Saturdays only. I also recalling yelling @ my manager once too!
