He said none in the last two weeks, except for one that just came in today. I said hold it for me. He said no. He had already called 10 people who wanted it and were on there way. I said can I buy it over the phone? He said no. First come first serve.
So I ran to my truck, and drove like a madman about five miles to the store. I easily broke about 10 laws getting over there.
I entered the store and the guy was on the phone telling someone that yes, they did have a Wii, but its first come first serve. (At least he was consistent.) I motioned to him that I wanted the Wii, which I could see sitting there!
After he got off the phone, he told me to stand in a certain spot as he scanned this guy in lines huge pile of trade-in DVD's. The Wii was mine, he just had to finish this transaction! I was SO excited.
Anyway, two people came in the store while I was waiting, and I had the pleasent job of telling them !
So the Wii is going under the tree for the family! I feel really lucky, as I was dreading the search and destroy mission to find one of this suckers. I might before xmas get the component cables and another controller set. I am also still open to family game suggestions.

| it has online aspects, like it has virtual console downloads where you can download back-catalogued games from NES, SNES, N64, Sega, and Turbo Grafx16.
It's also got a unique friends list thingy which I haven't really gotten to try out yet because I don't have anyone's console numbers to add to my friends.
It's not quite as elaborate as Xbox Live but, for free, I am definitely not complaining!!!

Sound phishy? It shouldn't because now I have to try and source one out.

| Yes it does have a browser and honestly I am glad the 360 doesn't have a browser. If I wanted a browser I'd just open my laptop, or turn on my desktop pc, or my wife's laptop. Or my Wii, now. I don't think a Browser is necessary at all. Probably will be my least used feature on the Wii and eventually when I personally pick up a PS3. My brother is getting anxious now especially since I was pretty close to getting one today... | |

| I agree that not everyone who has multiple laptops or computers in general but, if they are going to go out and buy something for 400+ dollars... maybe 5-6-700 dollars after buying accessories, games, etc. I think they are going to buy a computer first and foremost, if they don't already have one.
It makes more sense for the DS or the PSP to have a browser as it is portable. But, a PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360 is not portable, in that same sense. I think as it stands, most people who can afford a 360 will already have access to a computer and internet service. On top of paying for normal internet service you would also have to pay for Xbox Live to even utilize said browser.
I also find that Xbox 360 not having a browser also sets them apart in a good way saying, "We're still focusing on gaming and community". Whereas PS3 is more of a PC, according to previous Sony comments. And for them, having a browser works just fine, if they want it to be more like a PC.
Anyway, I suppose I know that it would be nice to have a browser outside of a normal PC, especially for some, but for me, I already have the said computers along with a Wii and a DS (eventually supporting web browsing).
