Wii Launch dates by territory

For anyone that stumbles in and hasnt yet found out...

U.S. = November 19th
Japan = December 2nd
Europe = December 8th

Their goal is to ship 4 Million units in the 43 days between launch and December 31st.

MadBryan and anyone else getting a Wii...

Ron Bertram(vice president/general manager for Nintendo of Canada), claims that there will be 1 million units available at launch here in the states.

Serious question....Do any of you think these will be worth anything once the launch units run out? Was the GC in short supply? If so, was there a mad dash to ebay like there was for Xbox in 2001? I was playing xbox so I didnt pay attention to the GC launch at all.

I didn't think there was, thanks for confirming. Madbryan might remember more(assuming he was a staunch GC supporter as he is the Wii).

1 million units is a lot. Theres never been that many for a launch here. ps2 had around 4 to 500,000, xbox had 500,000, GC(no idea), 360 and ps3 both with around 400,000.

Actually I believe the Dreamcast had like 6 to 800,000. Time to do some research

**490,000 DC's sold in the 1st weekend, and another 150 to 175,000 over the next week so they had atleast 650,000 shipped here for launch

As for the Wiiiiiiiiiii. I am going to hold off... there's just too much other stuff to buy right now.

There are so many games for 360 that I want in the next few months. AND the accessories... omg the accessories.... HD-DVD add-on, Wireless headset, Wireless steering wheel, maybe the camera. Not to mention, HD-DVDs. Let's see... I already have all three Fast and the Furious Movies on the way to me. Also have Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Corpsebride on pre-order. what else do I want...

That's the ones that have official release dates (except for HP:GoF). Man, amazon is going to be getting a lot of my business! Fortunately enough though, they are only 20 bucks on amazon plus I've already got the 10% off each HD-DVD I buy in the next year so... it helps cost a bit but, still...

All the more reason not to buy yet another $250.00 game system.

wii, extra controller(you know you'd have to get one), Single game, tax: roughly 385.00. *439.00 if you add another game.

that gets you a lot of 360 games and peripherals. Im not saying dont buy the Wii, everyone should to help pound....n/m I'll buy one if you all do! Just to rub it in Kens face!

i wouldn't say I'm a staunch Wii supporter. Here at my house we have two differant types of gaming. We laugh and pass the wavebird around and the whole families in on it and then there's the don't fu@k with Daddy he's playing Splinter Cell. To be honest that kinda sums up Nintendo and shows whats lacking on my fav (xbox). We are going to have loads of fun drawing our bows as link and hearing the string twang out of the little controller speaker. I will say I hope they make the Wavebird compatible or offer some sort of "normal controller at some point for when the newness wears of
