I just saw on ESPN.com that they names McCown as their starting QB for this week. Don't you want to give your team the best chance to win. I believe Daunte Culpepper gives you the best shot at winning for a pretty limp franchise. He certainly proved he has fully healed from his knee surgery two years ago. Miami rushed him backed to soon last year.
I am a Vikings fan and I wish he was still in a Vikings uniform. He proved in preseason that he can still run and still has a cannon of an arm. He will make more plays with his feet than McCown will with his arm.
I still hate Josh McCown for throwing that lucky TD pass to Nathan Poole to knock the Vikings out of the playoffs in 2003.
Oh by the way, they still haven't signed their #1 overall draft pick yet.
With all the football talk going on, I had to add this thread. I hope we have some Raider haters out there. Better yet, I hope we have to Raider lovers out there. All I can say, I am sorry.

| Yea, I heard on NFL Radio on Sirius that McCown was named the starter. Don't forget, they're playing the Lions. Basically or post-view of last years toilet bowl.
With the Russell fiasco, at the moment, not a lot of choice. And McCown probably knows the offensive a little better. The Oline played well during the preason, but the season is a different story. Do you want to send a guy who may still be healing to the wolves if you're not a 100% certain there's protection for the guy. And it's not like he named him as the started for the season. He could be pulled after one play anyway.

Ricky Williams will already be on board as the feature back. He'll rehire Art Shell for one last go-round. It'll be a thing of beauty, slathered in Stickum.

Once place I cannot see Vick going is to Cleveland. I don't he would survive their dog pound

| Actually recent history will rebut your prediction Quo. I hope Kiffin does well, obviosly. I know Al Davis isn't the most loved owner by the general public; he's definately a Mavrick. One thing history has shown though, he does well with his young coach hires. So I think Kiffin will do well if he's given a good chance, which I think Al is wiling to do.
As for Michael Vick, could the Raiders hire him when he's done with jail/prison and NFL suspension, sure. WIll it happen though? I have no idea. It's going to depend a lot on what he does between now and then. I just can't see any team taking a chance on Vick if he hasn't played any kind of football for two or three years. I can see him in camp as campfodder for competition at the position. Plus he's going to have a to do a lot to clean up his public reputation.
As for Shell, I highly doubt he'll do another stint as a Raiders' head coach. If hired, he'll be in the corporate office, since he does have experience with the NFL's. And Al, will help almost any previous Raiders' player if he can.

I dont actually have a team I follow. I just follow the Raiders and watch them lose. It is so fun. So far this has been a perfect season for me!
That time out last week really scared me, as I thought they had pulled off a come from the back win. Thank goodness that time out was called.
Raider home games are the best. I just imagine all those idiot fans driving home in their silver and black make-up, the silly customes, and all the other crap they wear. Looking like tools for worshipping a team that for years has been piss poor. Actually, thinking about it now, it is these fans that drive my distaste for the Raiders.
