The last line is classic. My buddy is a Rangers fan too (no accounting for taste; it's all about Oakland Athletics). He said the Rangers have had good bats lately. I said it would have been even funnier if they had lost with those 30 runs, LOL.

Of course, it was a double header and in the 2nd game, the Rangers won 9-7. What a baseball fiasco that night was in Baltimore.

The San Francisco Giants are parting ways with Barry Bonds after this season. I think there is a press conference scheduled for Saturday.

Thanks for breaking the HR record, now don't let the door hit ya on the way out!

Barry is going to the american league. I'm thinking he'll go with the Angeles since his home is in Beverly Hills. I originally thought he lived in the bay area, so Oakland would be in that contention.

SF now has some money to sign young talent on the way up, and some pitching. Should invest the money in their farm system, since not that many guys they have develope into stars. I'm an Oakland fan. I know they have a small payroll. But they generally do pretty well year after year, and it's based on their young talent. The A's definately have a good farm system.

PS....Angeles stink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yankees = Satan in pin stripes. As an Oakland As' fan, I was enjoying when they're stinking it up like a bag of poo.

Rockies make the post season! New Banners being printed!!

The Colorado Rockies make the playoffs for the first time since 1995, when they made it as a wildcard. The funny thing is that the Rockies hoisted a banner that read "1995 Wild Card Colorado Rockies" or something like that, you know, when most teams only raise banners that say "World Champions". Anyways, I think Jim Rome (rightfully) poked fun of the Rockies before they finally realized that was pretty silly to put up a banner for NOT-winning your division and they took it down. Seven years later.

Anyways, after winning a 13-inning one-game playoff (apparently it's counted as a regular season game as Rockies LF Matt Holiday won the NL RBI crown in the 13th inning), over the San Diego Padres, 9-8. The Rockies gave up two runs in the top of the 13th, and rallied for three run off Trevor Hoffman (the all time save leader with 524) in the bottom of the 13th.

Or did they?

The game winning run was scored by Matt Holiday on a sacrifice fly to left. It was actually a line-drive and Padre's right fielder made a perfect throw on a line that beat Holiday at the plate. The ball bounced out of catcher Michael Barrett's glove and the ump made no signal as Holiday kind of bounced off his chin and looked dead. Then, out of nowhere, the ump calls him safe. No way Holiday touched the plate, Barrett had him blocked perfectly.

Oh well, I'll take it!

1. He didn't even come close to touching the plate.
2. Worst slide ever!
3. Congrats to the Rockies. It's cool to see them in there. Let's hope they end up facing the Dbacks!

This is appropriate, Sports and Video games mentioned in this ESPN AM Jump blurb:

Quote:
PEOPLE THAT MADE MONDAY MORE FUN THAN USUAL

Matt Holliday

You have to know you're having a good month when you're named NLCS MVP of a team on a 21-1 run that just completed two playoff sweeps on its way to the first World Series in franchise history. But like Holliday said; "this MVP award goes 24 other directions." Just how good are the Rockies right now? If you were playing them on your Xbox, you would have hit "restart game" about 50 times by now and probably smashed at least one controller.

Since my Yankees are out, and the Denver team I do root for is sucking it up right now, I'll be rooting for the Rockies in the World Series.

I don't know who I'll root for in WSC. I know it won't be the RedSox. Nothing good comes from them winning.

Denver gears up for World Series!! And here is the proof!

This image was projected from the rooftop of a nearby parking garage. The "R" was kinda bouncing all over the place, what a low-rent town I live in!

I've been meaning to get this of my chest but am finally getting around to it.

Just before this 2007-2008 NBA season kicked off Carmelo Anthony and Iverson both came out and said they thought the Nuggets could win 60 games this year. Coach George Karl said, "Whoa, whoa, we can get 55 wins."

Are you three out of your mind?!?! Do you realize that you still play in the Western Conference? And know for a fact that teams like Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Houston, and probably Utah are flat out, better than you? How are you going to win 60 games if there are four or five teams in your own conference that are superior to you? 60 wins?!? Are you kidding me? What, did the NBA expand to a 110-game season?

Here are the Nuggets record over the last two seasons:

2005-06 - Denver Nuggets 44-38
2006-07 - Denver Nuggets 45-37

Here is a better display of this team's talent, their wonderful post season record for the past three years:

2004-05 - Denver Nuggets 1-4
2005-06 - Denver Nuggets 1-4
2006-07 - Denver Nuggets 1-4

Here's an idea Nuggets, GET OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND!!! I'd like to see more out of my team than the token "We won a game in this series so we didn't get swept". Maybe after you make such bold statements like "60 wins" you can go out of beat New Orleans when you are AT HOME! Here's a hint; teams that win 60 games in a season beat teams like New Orleans when they are playing at home. In fact, they beat teams like New Orleans on the road as well.

Here's to another first round exit!

60 wins? Really? 60 wins?

/Rant
