Both Anderson Silva and Fedor proved how dominate they are tonight. What Fedor was able to do was amazing though. I am certainly no Tim Sylvia fan but he is certainly a legit heavyweight and Fedor absolutely dominated him finishing the fight in 36 seconds. It's tough to really gauge who the top pound for pound fighter is but my vote goes for Fedor. We might never see a fighter as dominate as he is. I hope Affliction can put the Fedor vs Couture fight together because I would love to see what gameplan Randy comes up with.

Wow, Silva is amazing. I had heard a lot of hype about "Sandman" on Ferrell's show, but that was over quick.

And what was up with the Brandon Vera (I think that's his name) "fight." That was a bore!

Great fights though though, I was sure that Tim Sylvia & Irvin where gonna loose quick.

Those were too quick, but i had fun watching it at the bar downtown. The other great fights where, Antonio "Minotauro" Nog vs. Edwin Dewees, Andrei Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell.

Andrei Arloski got a huge applause, another former UFC champ fighting, That Affliction PPV fight had much better fights. UFC had some boring matchs, that Brandon Vera match as AZ said was horrible to watch.

Ya, the Vera match sucked. I skipped the Affliction one because, lets face it, the UFC has the top fighters.

Top to bottom the UFC may have better fighters but they have never put on an event as stacked as what affliction just had. They had 4 of the top 5 or 6 heavyweights fighting. Then you add in guys like Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Matt Lindland, Vitor Belfort and Babalu and you have an amazing list of fighters. Unless the UFC would be willing to have multiple champions fighting on the same card they won't have a card to match this anytime soon. I know that not all of these guys are well known to the average MMA fan, but these guys are all legit fighters who can stack up against the best that the UFC has to offer.

Aren't those guys that lost too much in the UFC? Oh, and there has been at least 1 PPV that had 2 title fights. Thats like once a year, though, maybe.

I dont think Antonio Nog has lost too many, i think he may have lost only 1 in the UFC, but Fedor never lost, Babalu i dont think ever lost or has been in the ufc. Vitor Belfort is a freakin legend in the UFC, Tim Sylvia only has 4 losses(now 5), & Andrei Arlovski didnt loose that many in the UFC either.

This is not a diss to the UFC, but this Affliction was 5x better than the UFC bout.

UFC doesnt have the best fighters, they may have the greatest amount of grade A fighters in their league, but they need Fedor, Cung Lee, Frank Shamrock, Sakuraba etc...

Sometimes i think these fighters are in Multiple leagues, like Anderson Silva, wtf is he doing in King of the Cage, the best fighters are usually in Pride & UFC. 2 are in Strikeforce; Cung lee & Frank Shamrock.

Most if not all of those fighters left the UFC on their own terms. The only one that I can think of that didn't was Babalu and he was released from his contract for not releasing his choke on David Heath after he had tapped out. Sylvia asked for and was granted his release. Arlovski's contract expired and the UFC tried to resign him. Matt Lindland was released from his contract for wearing an unapproved sponsor's t-shirt at the weigh-ins. Josh Barnett left the UFC after winning the title over a disputed drug test. It's a complicated matter on that one but the point of this is these guys weren't fired from the UFC for underperforming they all left for different reasons. Many of these guys the UFC has tried to bring into their organization but haven't succeeded for one reason or another. You have guys fighting for Affliction that could easily be fighting for the UFC championship and guys such as Fedor who would easily be the champion. Affliction put on the best list of fights top to bottom of any MMA event in probably the last 5 years.

I'll agree that the UFC doesn't have all the great fighters, but I don't necessarily agree with your list of who they are missing. I certainly don't consider Frank Shamrock an elite fighter anymore and he is the only big name win on Cung Lee's list. Cung Lee might be a great fighter but until he fights more real competition we won't know. Sakuraba is past his prime and was never as good as advertised. He also got absolutely decimated by Melvin Manhoef at Dream 4. The big thing with Sakuraba is he is loved by the Japanese fans but if you look back at his record you'll see that against most top tier fighters he did not win those fights. Right now I'd rather see Fedor fighting in Affliction because I want to see him fight Arlovski & Josh Barnett. Who would he fight in the UFC? The best the UFC has to offer in the HW division is Minotauro, a guy that Fedor has already beaten twice.

Ill Agree Cung Lee hasnt fought big names other than Frank, but I guarantee he can hold his own just with those leg kicks and take downs. Plus, I want to see wtf he would do if they took him to the ground, since no one ever has.

I disagree about Frank Shamrock though, That boy is still Elite & is still probably one of the best in his weight class. He is versed in Ground game, and stand up, his conditioning is supposed to be superb...The only reason he lost against Cung Lee was because he decided that he would stand up against Cung lee, which ended up with him having a broken wrist. He reminds me of Randy Couture now, he only wants to fight the best. Ken Shamrock has lost his edge but I count Frank in, its just annoying when he stands up with a great stand up fighter just to prove a point.

Yeah, Sakuraba is old, but it would of been cool to have him in the UFC back in the day. Btw, the PPV started out sweet with that Big Nog fight, i just watched that fight again, Edwin caught a huge one in the temple.

Frank didn't stand with Cung Lee just to prove a point. Cung Lee was a wrestler in college and has excellent take-down defense. Frank couldn't take him down and had to stand with him.

If you look at Frank's last 3 fights, he got beat up by Cung Lee. He beat Phil Baroni, a marginal fighter at best and he was DQed in his fight with Renzo Gracie. A fight that Frank had done absolutely nothing in. He's losing to fighters that aren't even considered top 10 in their weight class. Frank Shamrock is past his prime and can't compete with any good fighters anymore.
