| Bioshock or Halo 3? Each game is different. Each game has a different story. Each game has a different focus. Each game (IMO) is awesome. But what if I had to choose only one? What if my wife only let me buy one game every two months and I had to choose between these two games.
This would be a tough choice for me. I haven't quite finished Bioshock yet, but so far I'm loving it. It was nice to finish Halo3 to "finish the fight" and learn the rest of the story, but Bioshock was certainly more innovative. There are arguments on both sides.
Which would you choose? And why?

| Completely depends on if you prefer single or multi player games. I don't think its fair to choose between these two because they are vastly different. I enjoyed Bioshock very much, although near the end I found it started to be very repetitive. Not being a fan of Halo, I still have to give them props on the numerous game types and modes that are included. | |

The single player just beats Halo's like a rented mule. Bioshock's story was just too good, as was the gameplay and immersion. IMO, it's the game of the year. Easily. Halo brought 4-player co-op to the table for single player. Not enough for GOTY though. I love the Halo universe and it's story arcs, but the story in the games have never really lived up the books for me. Halo just never draws you into it's world like Bioshock did. I never feel like I'm in the Halo universe. Multiplayer between the two is a different story.

I was excited about Halo after playing the beta but that excitement is gone a week later. The MP is getting boring although I had fun playing with Jon on Saturday. I guess it depends on the crowd. I think the Bioshock experience is just amazing. They suck you in with great graphics and soundtrack and sounds that creeps you out at times. They continue to build and build on it. If it had a slightly better ending it would have been the perfect game.

| Halo 3's story, while open, is still very linear. Bioshock wins. | |

I do perfer co-op games, but Bioshock is so much better then Halo that I feel it will be the game of the year, and deserves to be.

The multiplayer, despite the newer graphics and gameplay additions, is the same as it ever was. The only negative observation I have of the story is that co-op waters down the story experience. People are talking and laughing and skipping through the dialog and cutscenes and, unfortunately, that is how a lot of people experienced the story. Single player, on heroic, is the way to experience the story, according to the developers.
Bioshock, I liked, but I only played the demo. I will absolutely play it one day, but games that I can enjoy with other people is where it is at for me, more often than not. I will save Bioshock for a time in my life when I have more time and there is a games drought. For right now, there is too much multi-player for me to care.
