Buy or wait?

As we all know there are loads of good games coming out very soon (or which have already come out). With the sheer amount of great games on the horizon I wonder whether I'll have time to play them all. I'm concerned that I might buy them all, get stuck on 1 or 2 great ones and the others will simply collect dust. Even with that possibility, I think I'll end up buying them all anyway.

So the question for the week is, when faced with a month of gaming release bliss, would you buy all the great games and then get to them when you can, or would you wait and buy only one at a time?

I should have said Wait, but I know I'll buy them all now. At least most of them. I'll probably hold off on some, but I'll be getting Halo 3 and COD4 at launch.

Crap. I voted wait... but then I started thinking about the ones I'll definitely be getting. COD4, Halo3 and the Orange Box are all must haves for me. the others will probably need to wait.

Jam Sessions
Halo 3
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Orange Box
Mass Effect
Assassin's Creed
Army of Two
Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

The remainder I'll pick up at some point (or I'll break under pressure and buy it soon after launch).

I am going to go ahead and buy them, the reason being you never know which of your friends have the new and popular games. Plus the fact that there are way to many good titles coming to to pass up.

3rd option, rent from our bros at gyg. They will have all the games at some point and you can play each for as long as your hearts desire.

I did the same thing but I know I'm just going to end up buying all of those games and Mass Effect.

Only two? You're lucky. I still haven't gotten around to opening and playing Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube if that says anything...

Anyway, I voted buy now. Simply because I've already pre-ordered most of what I want.

I'll buy them now, but I think I would be wise to wait on some while I'm playing other games and pick it up used when it comes in the store. But like Morphover said, you never know what everyone is going to be playing and some game you don't want to get late (I got GRAW 2 late and missed most of everyone around here playing it). Plus I'm not that wise to begin with, so I voted buy them all.

I voted wait. Games like Halo 3 I'll buy at launch because of their great prequels. Games like Mass Effect I'll buy at launch because of similar games like Kotor or Jade Empire. Games like COD4 I'll get at GYG because there will probably be a new one every year. Most other games I wait until I have time.

These are all the games that I will buy no matter what, on launch day. They are spread out enough though that I won't have a huge amount of trouble. If they all came out the same day I would probably buy the first one on the list then wait a month or so before buying the next.

The reason for this is because I will let a game sit there knowing that I can play them anytime and never play them. If I got out and buy it though, it's new and I wanna rip the packaging open and play the new hotness that I just purchased.

you need a third option: buy some, wait some.

obviously you can't play all games. I would suggest buy one or two, then buy some more when you're close to finishing or done with them. They may be cheaper or you may find out they actually stink and not worth the depute price.

As to games never opened, I have around eight GCN games still in the celaphane wrapping. Of course, most were purchased for about $20.

Yeaaaah It looks like I am finally gonna play more Fps's with Quo & Keezy cause im picking up the same line up. Cant wait for Team Fortress!

There will be Assassins Creed as well...Im gonna rent strangleHold.
