| What is the best console value right now? I don't want to start any flaming or fighting, but I'm interested in know what you all think is the best console value right now? Everyone has a different way of measuring value. Whether it be "cheapest" or "most games" or "most bang for buck," or simply "fanboyism," there's a reason for whatever vote you make.
For purposes of the poll I have disregarded the various different SKU's and whatnot and just put up the console itself. Feel free to explain your answer although the poll is anonymous.
I'm on the fence really but I will make a choice here eventually. The 360 offers a variety of features that are unmatched on the PS3 or Wii. There is an abundance of games, so many that I don't have time to play them all. The PS3 offers stability (so far) and lack of fear of failure, but not too many games that I can't play what I want in a short amount of time. I'm still annoyed that the music streaming doesn't work properly, but the features provided are solid for the price. The Wii offers a few fun games that I can play with friends and the rest of the family and initially is cheaper. But once you factor in 3 more Wiimotes and nunchucks, its about the same price anyway. So I'm still on the fence for now. But I'll make a choice, just as I'm sure you all will!

I expert the results to be about 95% in favor of the 360 though based on the fanbase here.

| As of right now, I'd say it's the PS3 for me. As much as I love the xbox 360, the amount of time that mine's been out of service, I can't say it's been quite as much value. Plus, the PS3 has been more versatile for me. I've been able to put my music all on there, watch movies, play games (occasionally ), among other things... | |

| I'd say the 360 for gamers, and the PS3 for HT guys. The PS3s good games are coming, but the 360 is unrivaled right now. | |

As far as the best console right now, it's the 360 hands down. So many games, GREAT online and some great exclusives/content.
The Wii is good, innovative and fun, but there isn't much out for it, and you can't even play online yet.

I think it has nothing to do with fanboyism you Sony fanboys.

Solid blu-ray player and plenty of storage for music and pictures. I am not downplaying the 360s ability to do some of these things, but it isn't really fair to include streaming video, as it requires a computer. I also am excluding the HD downloads, simply because they are rentals and only rentals. Despite the excellent quality of the HD rentals, only the PS3 has the ability to play HD movie discs right out of the box.
I use my game system for games though. My history in the games business has taught me that the more you use the moving components of your system, the faster you are running down it's natural lifespan. By "natural" I mean aside from defect, flashing reds, etc. Best game console value for me? 360, hands down. It has the games, and that will only increase in the future. The only Sony exclusive that I have ever really wanted to play is God of War, so even if they were to pile on the rest of the exclusives that they were able to hold onto, it wouldn't really be enough for me.
And Blu-ray or HD-DVD? Meh. There are very few DVDs that I find worth owning, so why would I go out and pay double for the same thing. I don't care what anyone says... DVD doesn't suck. It doesn't. I am in no hurry for a replacement player or format.

The main feature I look for in a system is its ability to play games. Since Playstation 3 is lacking games, that leaves the Wii and the Xbox 360. So between the two it was a toss up.

All that BluRay is wasted on me since I don't watch many movies - and the ones I do own are all DVD. The 360 has the games down pat. Plus with Live and Arcade - no contest.

Join Date: May 2007 Location: Durham,England. Age: 18 | Im going to vote for the PS3, simply because of the blu ray player its better value for money, Its on par with the xbox graphical wise maybe even better. with a better chance of it not dying out. Ive had my xbox repaired more times than I wanna hope to remember now its truely annoying. The second wave of games in 08 for the PS3 is gonna blow the xbox away anyhow, Its only doing well compared to the ps3 simple because of price, that'll be sorted soon, like brew said sales are up 130% in another post, Or quoted it from a site. so things are allrdy doing good. Its not the games now its the games coming out you need to look out for. gotta think MS rushed the xbox, 3million + consoles are vaulty wereas I cant actually remember a post by someone saying their PS3 died on any forum/mgsboard.
The games out atm / soon for the PS3 are the xbox standard, It wont be till next year we see something the blue ray discs are really capable of doing.

Join Date: May 2007 Location: Durham,England. Age: 18 | Hell yeah the ps3 has alot more for the money - Obviously since you pay extra, IMO the xbox is a good console. but its just to unreliable least the ps3 wont die on you, free and very fast download speeds, and a web browser, plenty of HD space its like a PC and console in one, web viewing and can post on forums and what not, go on youtube aswell im guessing which rocks, you get alot out of it. then you got kick ass blu ray movies and next year a insane range of games to rival the xbox.
EDIT: Almost forgot!
Thats without mentioning HOME aswell, I'd much rather have a hall of fame than the achievement system, Everyone can show their rather accomplishments privately rather than let everyone see their "achievements" like on the xbox. More privacy, I like it alot. Peench should make a PGL home lol it would be banging! bowling alleys and pool tables, arcade machines and so on. Meet up before having a game mess about or have after-match talks ect stuff like that would be awesome, I for one will deffo be putting a lot of time into making a good "HOME" best thing is its free lol! how sweet is that.

| | PGL Community Vendor | I can see a strong argument for the PS3 with its Blu-Ray player, but I think you have to factor in that you would have to have a HD TV and have to pay the crazy prices for Blu-Ray movies.
I, of course, picked the 360 because it has the best online service, better games, and Live Arcade. I love playing with the PGL and the 360 is the best way to do it.
