TOS. Three little letters that could conceivably stand for a whole multitude of things. "Timing of Sex" "Tilting of Saturn" "Testicles in Socks" I'm here all week; try the veal.
But seriously folks, we have a
Terms of Service (TOS) here for a reason. We're trying to make sure that we all can exchange our views without everyone getting their panties in a bunch when someone doesn't agree with them. Certain actions are off limits (trolling, spamming, advertising, etc), and certain topics are off limits (hacking, copyrighted material, etc.). Then there are topics that are closely watched because they almost always lead to bickering (religion, politics).
The TOS shows up in at least two places. The first place you see it is when you sign up. I'm certain that when every single one of you signed up you scrolled all the way to the bottom of the TOS and read over every term of your usage here, right? I mean, really, it isn't all
that long (that's what she said... not to me of course).
Then there's the fact that only 1008 people (as of posting) have read through the TOS thread. I know for a fact we have more than 1008 members here. Perhaps not all of them post very often, but I'm curious as to whether any of you have really read over the Terms of Service. So that's our poll for this week.
For anyone who has read thru our threads (that sounds dirty; I like it), you know we're not stuffy. We are all here because we like gaming. We like gaming with people who just want to have fun. There's not any 2 of us who are exactly the same (even the members who are twins are quite a bit different in their gaming styles, etc). We have different religions; we have different beliefs; we have different thought process; we have different family structures, etc. But we all have gaming in common.
We can and will disagree with each other on just about any given subject. How we handle those disagreements will set us apart from the typical forum. We are here to have fun, not to shove our beliefs down everyone else's throats or to convince everyone to agree with us. We're here to game and to have fun. I love the members here for their differences, but do have to say, if you aren't having fun, perhaps this isn't the best place for you. There are thousands of sites out there and perhaps we're not for everyone. Don't beat yourself up about it; find a place where you feel more like you fit in. If you can't find a place, come back; we'll still be here. If Tom Bodet were a member, he'd leave a light on for you. Me, I'm too cheap to do that but feel free to come back anyway!
Alright, enough of my rambling - have you read the TOS or not?
