| Was a huge fan of the originals, but I'm not really syched about Diablo III. It's mostly because it's no longer being developed by the original developers, which was Blizzard North (BN was closed in 2005). And the only thing new about Diablo III is it's graphics overhaul.
Blizzard Entertainment might make quality games, but that's all they make. They never create new IPs, and they never try to create new gameplay mechanics in any of their games. They just rehash everything, throw in some 1337 loot, and people eat it up. The one thing they tried to add to Warcraft III, Hero Units, really just ruined the classic RTS gameplay. And there's not a damn thing in WoW that's unique to it.
It seems to me that it's us console oriented gamers that seek innovation in games, because you rarely see that in PC games anymore.
Now as for wether or not I'll get Diablo III, I'm still not sure. It really depends what I have to play when it's released, which actually shouldn't be to far away. In an interview it was said that it's been in development for four years (not sure how much time it's really had though, concepting etc. could have taken a couple years.). Blizzard North was working on two projects before it was closed, one was most likely Diablo III, which would explain why it would have 4 years already.
