Everyone can start crying now. In what has to be the most horrible timing ever, our host has determined to move us to a new server. Sure they have had this thing in the works for a year and sure it should have been done months ago, but unfortunately we're due for migration now.
In a move that puts cable companies and plumbers to shame, we have been given the following window for when the 'upgrade' will take place:
Window start: October 18, 2007
Window end: October 20, 2007
We'll be down for possibly three days.

To ensure that we don't lose any data, we will be shutting down PGL late on October 17 (or early 10/18 for you East Coast members), and it will remain down until we are sure that the migration has gone smoothly and that all data is back up and running.
Without a 360 to play and without PGL to peruse, I'm not sure what I am going to do with myself. I'd go outside and play, but it has been rainy and odd here lately. So I will probably just sit in a chair and throw wads of paper at my kids as they run around the room.
So that's the bad news. The good news in all of this is that we are being migrated into a new/different company and a completely new server. We'll still be on a shared server (hopefully not shared with jerkys that crash the server all the time), but the new machine has dual 5130 Xeon processors, and 4GB RAM. I'd contrast that with the specs of our current machine, but they never told us what that was.

Suffice it to say they probably wouldn't be advertising the new specs if they weren't better than the old ones.
So like a Phoenix, PGL will arise from a 3 day down time better than ever (or so we hope). Keep your fingers crossed for us that we come through this migration unscathed and that we are back up and running without any hiccups.
We here at the ever-growing PGL family will miss you during this short time offline. See you all soon!
ps - FNFF, the final nights of the HOTSOS tourney and any other tourneys will still take place. We'll just have to postpone talking about them until we are back up and running.
