| PreGameLobby's Official E3 Coverage Begins Tomorrow I'm all geared up and ready to head to Los Angeles tomorrow for the start of the new E3. And by geared up I mean I haven't packed yet, I have loads of stuff to finish today at the office and a meeting to attend tonight.
But tomorrow I'll be in sunny Santa Monica ready to bring you all the gaming news you can handle (or I can type). With the addition of a broadband card this year I'm hoping to be able to post information directly from the big press conferences. I'm all set up to attend all three of the main press conferences (Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony), so I should be able to bring you all information directly from the conference floor.
I'm also hoping this year not to leave my camera on the freaking shuttle bus so I should be able to bring loads of photos to you all as well. I'll be uploading them to my Flickr account as often as I can so check there as well.
This year should be interesting. With all of the traveling between different hotels and locations I'm hoping to be able to bring you all as much information as possible. Feel free to post here questions you have or information you'd like and hopefully I'll be able to track it down.
Wish me luck!
~~~
Update - We're teaming up with GamertagRadio to try and broadcast the MS press conference live. We'll be using my laptop, the Live vision camera and a simple microphone. We've tested it out and it seems like it is working. Check it out HERE.
| Drive up was uneventful, hit traffic in all the usual places. In Los Angeles you can read that as “everywhere.” Checked in my hotel, helped a guy push his car out of the street because he ran out of gas, grabbed some “supplies” at the local Ralphs grocery store and then jumped on the shuttle bus to head to a different hotel to register.
It is about 5:15 p.m. on the 10th. I registered, grabbed some free drinks then jumped back on a shuttle to meet up with some fellow Xbox MVP’s and the crew from GamertagRadio for some live broadcasts from a different hotel.
I’m still concerned about this hotel shuffle between appointments and I’m already thinking that I may have an issue getting to a few different appointments, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m hoping that I won’t have to miss any of my pre-set meetings, but at the rate it has been taking to get between the hotels, its looking like more and more of an inevitability – which is unfortunate.
Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Denver Age: 36 | Hey, tell Nelson and Natalie hello for me. They don't know me, but I enjoy their podcasts, even if the info isn't all entirely accurate.
Also, here is a quote of some of my questions to MS from another site, if you get a chance to hassle people.
Kevin Unangst - What factors figured into the the Games for Windows being exclusive to Vista, besides pushing gamers to update to the newer version. Secondly, is MS currently working towards defeating the hacks to play those exclusive games on XP?
Peter Molyneux - A comment rather than a question. Even though every idea doesn't make it into your games, I want to personally thank you for your attempts to bring creativity and new ideas to gameplay. Those subtle touches to video games increase their ability to immerse you in the game experience. He should enjoy that, hehe.
John Rodman - I want to commend you on bringing a first-party steering wheel to market and your support of it through Forza 2, the updated PGR 3 and presumably the upcoming PGR 4. Given how much effort that Microsoft has put forth in promoting and growing Live Arcade and the problems with using the d-pad on the otherwise flawless 360 controller, it seems strange that Microsoft hasn't produced a first-party arcade stick. The MadCatz arcade controller, as with many of their other periphriels, is of such low build quality that it does not fill that glaring void. Likewise, the low production numbers of the Naki Dead or Alive stick also keep it out of Live Arcade fans' hands. To me it would make more sense to produce a first-party arcade stick, usable for 60+ games, than it would be to produce an expensive wheel for a handful of games or to license say, an expensive flightstick controller usable by 1 game. P.S. The folks at SEGA have a decent reputation for building good arcade sticks... I'm just sayin'
If Rodman punches you, tell him it was actually my question.
And if you talk to anyone from Zune, ask them to please look into updating the firmware to allow the faithful to delete content directly from the Zune, instead of having
