I hope you all enjoyed our little April Fool's day prank about charging everyone for the words they post here. To clarify for everyone who perhaps forgot that April 1 is April fool's day, we are NOT going to be charging people for posts here.
But we are still working on stuff. I know you all have heard it before and with all of us volunteering our time here, things may take a little longer than we all would wish, but we're still steering our way towards making PGL an even better place and offering cool stuff for members.
A few things we would like to bring to members:
1) More giveaways for members who contribute. We have tossed around ideas of giveaways to members who have signed up and we gave away Rainbow Six Vegas last year. We have also had members approach us about having giveaways for members who have contributed both to help generate revenue to hire designers, etc., and to give something back to those who have contributed. We're still hammering out those ideas and will probably try something out soon in that regard.
2) Site Design. We have a new logo and are tossing around design ideas. We have pretty much narrowed down the guy we want to hire to design the all new and very much PGL design for our site. We're getting there and hope to be there shortly.
3) T-Shirts, etc. Now that we have our new logo we have thrown around some T-Shirt slogan/ideas and will hopefully have some stuff available for purchase. We are looking at using Cafepress and/or Zazzle to offer these for members.
4) Stickers. We haven't talked much about these, but I'd like to have a bunch available for those who want them. If anyone has a place that makes them inexpensively or well (or both if possible), please shoot your ideas over so we can check them out.
5) PGL Plaza. We have Penguin United and are talking to a few other people who might want to advertise and/or discuss their products, etc. with PGL Members. We also have an account with a distributor where we can pick up stuff and hopefully pass on the savings to PGL members. Right now the margins are pretty small so we're trying to work out how to offer a discount for PGL members without losing money in the process. But look for the PGL Plaza (name not yet finalized), shortly.
Our sincere thanks to all of you who have made PreGameLobby the premier place for mature gamers to discuss videogames and everything else. Without your kind words to others about how awesome PGL is, we would not have grown to where we are today. Keep talking about us and keep talking to us about things we are doing or not doing. We welcome all ideas and thoughts. We may not implement all of them right away or ever, but I love hearing new thoughts and ideas.
