Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to post up your video highlights from EA Sportsworld.
I'm going to use our current NCAA season as an example, but this will work for ALL EA Sportsworld videos, including (currently)
NCAA Football 2008,
Tiger Woods 2008, and
FIFA 2008. Naturally, to have access to your videos you need to have already linked your account over at EA Sportsworld. Chances are if you're reading this you've already figured that out. EA isn't known for making things easy, but this is certainly doable. Make sure you've done this before you read on, and that you've uploaded video/pics from the game to EA Sportsworld so that they're accessible from the web.
Now that that's out of the way, we can move on to actually getting your vids off of the EA Sportsworld and out into the real world.
1. Download the video from EA Sportsworld. There's a button on the bottom right-hand corner of the video screen. I advise you to rename the file something recognizable, it'll be easier to find on your computer. For me, the desktop works great as a temporary storage space... plus I remember to delete it later.
2. On to Share.ovi.com (Twango)! Create a Twango/OVI account. This is so easy I don't need to elaborate. Here's a link to
Share on Ovi - The door to Nokia's internet services (Share.ovi.com is the new name for twango.com).
2. Step two will be to create a channel. Follow the link circled below to get to the channel creation page.
Think of channels like folders. You'll want to keep your photos/videos organized so you can always find what you're looking for.
3. Now that you've created a channel you need to upload media to it! Click on upload media on the right hand side of your screen (right below where "Create Channel" was. If you're somehow lost, click "Home" at the top of the page. Then you should be able to see it.
4. The upload media page is simple. Just select your channel in the pull-down box, then proceed to the file upload boxes. Since you've conveniently named your file something you can remember you can browse right to it! You can upload up to 5 files at once on this screen. Twango makes it easier to upload even more than that using the wizard software at the bottom of the page. It's unlikely you'll be doing more than 5 vids at a time though, so we'll stick to this page. When all files are represented, click upload!
5. You'll have the opportunity to apply different tags or notes to whatever you've uploaded as a batch. You can make this as complex or hard as you want. In this case, you may want to add the tag "NCAA" to your vids.
6. Next, you'll see a screen like this:
I've circled the new video. Sometimes it takes longer than a few seconds to process your video, so be patient. Once it shows up, you can click on it and view it.
7. Now that you can view your video, you can share it with the world.
In the picture above there are two critical elements. If you're just looking to embed the video
somewhere else you can use the embed codes in the bottom right-hand corner circled in green. Here at PGL, we've got a special code in the Advanced Reply screen that you can use to make it even easier. Copy what's in the red circle (the media name) in the address bar. In this example it's "Quo.10302".
8. Start your post here at PreGameLobby.com using the "Go Advanced" Reply option. Paste the media name (Again, in this example it's "Quo.10302") into the reply box. Then Highlight it. Next, click the "tv" button (that stands for Twango Video).
Type the rest of the post... mock your opponent, give a play-by-play, whatever. Your work is done. Hit "Submit Reply".
Enjoy your highlights!
