What’s better than winning stuff? Well, not much really. How about winning stuff while at the same time supporting PreGameLobby? There’s nothing wrong with that I suppose. January, 2008, marks the first of hopefully many months of giveaways here at PreGameLobby.
In a somewhat bastardized version of Woot, we plan on giving away something different each month here at PGL. What we give away will vary from month to month. In certain months we may give away big prizes, while in other months we may give away nothing other than a RBOC (
Woot RBOC Info). Every month will be a surprise. You won’t know what we’re giving away until it is mailed off to the lucky winning member.
Now that you all know how giving away secret, random prizes works, I’m sure you are wondering how the supporting PGL part works. Well here’s the skinny: Rather than requiring you to get up off your rears and actually do something or make something for an entry, we are going to treat the monthly giveaways like any other random raffle. For each $5 you contribute to PGL you will receive one (1) entry into the PGL raffle for that month. That’s it. Pretty simple huh?
You can use the contribution link on any of the pages here at PGL to buy a raffle ticket to the Monthly PGL Raffle.
To separate these contributions from the other contributions you may submit, make sure you include your forum name and “Monthly Raffle” in the notes box when you submit a raffle contribution.
At the beginning of each month we will start anew and give away a different prize or set of prizes. We will have a separate sub-forum listing all of the prior months’ prizes and the members who win them for your perusal. This way you can offer congratulations or condolences based on the prize we give away that month.
Whether the prize is a RBOC, or something awesome, it will always be worth more than a single contribution ($5 excluding shipping). Raffle contributions we receive in the prior month will go towards the next month’s prize so the more people who submit raffle contributions in any give month, the better the chances are that the next month’s prize will be awesome. There are no guarantees that each month will bring a better prize giveaway, however. We might take the contributions and buy a new server or more bandwidth and give out a RBOC during any give month. But that’s the fun of it all; you never know what awesome or crazy gift you may receive during any month here at PGL.
There are no obligations to participate in the monthly raffles. If no one participates, nothing will be given away and/or we might stop the raffles. If everyone participates, we’ll generate additional funds for additional awesome prizes and to keep PGL running. No matter what happens, we’ll always take some of those funds and put them back into PGL in some shape or form.
