R6 vegas still hot?

I'm not a serious gamer. I actually haven't bought a console system (typically I do PC games) in atleast 5 years to give you perspective. Anyways I recently decided to buy a xbox360, (coincidently halo3 came out around this same time, but I did not buy the xbox360 to play halo3). I did purchase halo3 and I am waiting for it in the mail.

I also bought halo2 when I got the console to fill myself in to what happened between halo1 and halo3 by playing the campaign mode.

Anyways I've been playing some of the demos off of the xboxlive demos. One game that seems to have grabbed me is rainbow six las vegas. I really enjoyed the demo, and I typically enjoy tom clancy games so it looks like a good game to get. The release date I think is something like a year ago today, one thing I want to do is get some fun out of xbox live so I want to buy a game in which I can expect to find people on xbox live playing it.

Basically I'm curious of what the r6 vegas xboxlive traffic is, has it died out after a year of being released or is there still a strong community making it worth the buy?

While Halo 3 will pretty much skew gaming time for most people for some time to come, R6 is a game that most of us played regularly for the entire year that it has been out. Pre-Halo3 release, almost any given night I could find someone online playing a game of R6 and could jump in and have fun with fellow PGL'ers.

I think Halo3 will get the most playtime in recent weeks/months, but R6 is always a solid title to play.

i to played rainbow for its full life pre-halo, but with the fall line-up of releases, i would have to recommend NOT purchasing it, if its fps your shopping for, you have halo3 (now), the orange box (sometime this month), and call of duty4 (next month) wont regret the purchase of any of those games, i guarantee that!

Rainbow is still a solid game. I have and still do play it. The trend around here is to play halo, but there are still tons of people playing vegas.

It's a great game that I'd highly recommend. Terrorist Hunt is awesome! "Keep them pinned down!"

I'd recommend getting it. The Rainbow Six series is easily one of my favorite series of games of all time. You'll have a blast playing single player, terrorist hunt with friends (online or co-op in your own home), and there are ALWAYS people playing it on live... although as it was mentioned above, most PGLers are playing Halo more than anything now, so you might be hard pressed to find anything other than the general public.

When I had Xbox live on my original Xbox, I played RB6 religiously, and I fully expected the people I had gotten to know playing that game to disappear when Halo 2 came out. While some of them did, there were plenty who, like me, couldn't give up RB6. It's just too fun of a game! Send me a friend invite and you can hit me up sometime for a game if you want.

I'll be honest I liked GRAW and GRAW 2 better... but I have to say like a virus this game grows on you. Why there is a core group of people on this site that won't put Halo3 down, I would say there is an equal group that will still enjoy other games. I would be glad to play a little RB6 again. I miss realism...

Yup, Halo 3 is great, but it hasn't kept me from thinking about my other games. I would be up for playing some Vegas.

Thanks for your feedback everyone, I think I might end up picking up a copy sometime int he next week or so. I'm probably going to look for a used copy or something though since most stores still seem to be selling it at about 60$, and it looks like these newly released games will probably take up a lot of attention. does anyone know if there are any plans for another rainbow six game for the 360? (maybe I will just hold off slightly longer for a sequel if it's not too far off)

end war is the only one in the works that i know of, but im not sure if its rainbow, ghost recon, or splinter cell, be nice if it was rainbow, thats the only series i like personally, let me know the cheapest price you find on rainbow, maybe ill just sell you mine

I was playing R6 consistently pre-Halo 3. I still really enjoy it, and I think it's been my favorite MP game on the 360 so far. But, there are some great titles coming out in next couple of months that I think will drive the traffic way down.

That being said, I don't know that I would personally want to throw down $60 for this title still. I really like it, but I think some of the "coming soon" titles might be more worth the money. It pains me to say it because I love the game, but I'd probably hold off.

ya i can accept paypal, i dont know really, $45 shipped? btw, id rather not do paypal, just because it takes time to get the money transfered back out and they charge if i get a payment, if your worried about me being trust worthy, i buy/sell on ebay, my username is namehater, i have 72 positive feedback and 0 negative, ya i know i own all
