Unless you have money there, I'd cancel that order too. That's BS.

I preorder my games from brick and mortar stores for that reason alone.

...so I tried to cancel the order. NO CANCEL AVAILABLE. They'd told me the soonest they could ship it would be the 21st. So I send them a WTF? email. They tell me they can't cancel the order now BECAUSE IT'S ALREADY SHIPPED.
Never.
Again.
So I picked up two copies at GameStop--one for me, one for RISC_Taker. We were up 'til 2:30.

i dont understand people, why resort to email? how are people so patient when somebody is screwing you around/over? give them a call. i always see people complaining about paypal also, dont waste time emailing companies like this because odds are your going to get a generated response, call the company, ask to speak directly with a supervisor/manager and handle your business

I'm with ya namehater. It still kills me that people are so extremely impatient when it comes to game/movie releases. I know a lot of people here go searching on Tuesday for a game that is released, even though it's going to be everywhere on Wednesday. Why even bother? I'd rather walk into a store on Wednesday knowing they have it than waste my time all day Tuesday trying to find one. Does having it a day early make you that much cooler? I guess I'm not a geek then, because I find it extremely ridiculous.
Personally, if this were me, I would have just waited for it from Amazon. Would it really have been so bad if you got it a bit late? If waiting for a game in the mail is all you have to worry about, I'd like to be in your shoes.

Screw Amazon and every other place you mail order stuff from; if I can't walk into my local gamestore(s) at the mall and pick it up when I feel like it, I'm going to walk into that department store across the street, or that other department store two blocks away from the department store...
Bottom line is, I've never ordered any game through a mailing company, and I've never had an issue getting a game.
And I rarely reserve a copy - screw that too.

I haven't tried to preorder a game from Amazon.com yet. Just no game I had to have like that or that great of pre-order deal. I've gotten a few games, but they were older games.
I did preorder that Harry Potter book for my mom. It was right on time and no issues.
I used to preorder some games from Sega on the Dreamcast. I would get games up to three days before the street date. That was awesome. Although I did get MLB 2K two weeks after the street date, even I preorder it a week before release. They sent me a letter of apology, some trinket, and plush sonic doll (I still have it in the plastic bag).
