PS1 downloads Require PS3.....

Just read an aricle at PSP Fanboy that stated a PS3 was required to download and play classic PS1 titles on the PSP. If this is the case, time to rade for a DS Lite for me.

That sucks to hear. I don't understand why you would need to spend 500-600 bucks when you've already paid 200 for the PSP, to get emulated PS1 games to work on the PSP. That just does not make sense to me...

Maybe you have to DL the games through the PS3 service. In other words, it would be like being able to play Live Arcade titles on your Zune.

From the sound of things earlier, it sounded like the games were FOR the PSP, but not it just sounds like the PSP is an alternative to playing them on the PS3...

Hm.... if you can DL them on the PS3 and then play them on the PSP, that's kinda cool.

Right now the only way to download PSOne games is through the playstation network. PS3 is the only thing that can connect to the playstation network. There will be an update, Sony is hoping to have before Christmas, which will allow your PSP to connect to the playstation network and download the games directly.

Awesome! That will be cool. I haven't read anything about this but would love to get some PS1 titles on my PSP. I assume there is a cost. Any more info you can pass on? Thanks!

The only thing that would make a PSP worth it to me is if I could get Twisted Metal 2 on it...that would be awesome.

My roommate and I in college got through the whole game twice without dying.
