PSP Remote play to PS3 Help!

I got a 40 gig PS3 and the Daxter PSP for my birthday this year and I'm very satisfied with both.... Except after several tries I can't get the PSP to connect to the internet or my PS3 for remote play.

I have followed the directions from Sony step by step and I can see the connection for the PS3 on my PSP so I know its registered by USB. Other than that I just get a time out error message

I have a wireless with wep setup and I have entered the password for my wep. I have tried to DL updates and copy to the folder for updates but I end up with corrupted file messages and no updates. I've tried infrastructure modes and I can't get the bitch to connect even to an unsecure open wireless connection.. Yes wireless mode is switched on, WTF this little sucker is pissing me off for internet connection.

I'm missing something here, but what? Any suggestions from the Sony pros out there?

I haven't fiddle with remote play yet myself. I just order a PSP. I have seen it working though at a buddy's house.

For an internet connection, I think you would be best served if you just connected the PSP to your network wirelessly.

All I could really find quickly was the instructions from sony:
Remote play through PS3
remote play via access point
remote play via internet

Oh man, I remember it was a pain to get my remote play to work with my PS3 for some reason. Next time I'm home and have a few minutes of free time I'll see if I can get it running.

Well, I got my PSP today and have set it up to the internet and remote play from the PS3. Took about 10 minutes to get the remote to work.

First thing first, are you sure your PSP is registered the PS3? In the PS3 settings under remote play, it will list the registered PSP to it. Check to make sure yours is listed.

Next you'll need to go to the remote play of the PS3 and turn it on. Then go to remote play on the PSP. You'll need to choose either either internet connection or private network. I suggest private network. I have PSP set as another device on my network and got a DNS error using the internet option; it should be noted on my gaming network, nothing is dynamic.

See if that helps. Otherwise, we'll need to know what error it's giving you.

I have both the PS3 and PSP and just updated them the other day. I never looked into the remote play. What does it do? If I have Resistance in the PS3 can I play it though the PSP? Or is there specific games only?

Remote play allows you remotely control the PS3, which means you can listen to music, watch videos on the PS3 or stream to the PS3 on the PSP. You can play some games for the PS3 on the PSP, but I won't hold your breathe for RFOM.

You can also download PSP stuff on the PS3 such as games and demos, install them on the PS3, and play them on the PSP via the remote play. Could be useful if you don't have stick duo or enough space on it.

Right now, for most people, it's just a nice gimmick since most probably won't do the streaming.

Well, I need to correct my above post. You can't play PSP games saved on the PS3 HDD. They have to be on the PSP either via UMD or stick duo. And if you do download a game to the PS3, you'll need to connect the PSP via a USB to the PS3 to copy the game over to the PSP.

I tried to play a blue ray and a DVD movie on the PS3 drive, but the PSP wouldn't access the drive via remote play.
